IMMERSIONS 19 - Rookas PRODUCTIONS with podcast 19 by Rookas aka @staticmotion.exe from Lithuania. Rookas is a Lithuanian DJ and producer based in Vilnius, known for his work in the underground electronic music scene. He curates the experimental label static motion and organizes events under the DAI initiative, fostering avant‑garde sounds in Lithuania. His music blends ambient, drone, and techno‑adjacent textures, emphasizing both studio craft and immersive live experiences. Active since at least 2012, Rookas continues to shape the local scene while releasing innovative electronic music. PRODUCTIONS represents a mobile recording journey across Poland, Lithuania, and Portugal. This podcast sereies brings together 52 artists of DJ sets and live performances captured inside our IMMERSIONS Truck, a fully equipped mobile studio and stage on wheels. It was the summer of 2012 and I was preparing to play a warmup set before the mighty @demdikestare in Supynes festival. I remember the times to be simpler, I was young and curious, nothing felt impossible and everything was in front of all of us. To some extent that is still true but I am not so young anymore. I remember the excitement and preparation, dds meant quite a bit for me and the scene was really starting to grow. Unfortunately, I couldn’t find any photos or videos, times were really simpler I guess but I have a memory of playing Jeff Mills - The Bells at -30% speed at some point and finishing my set with some Chain Reaction.. @nerdamas thank you for the opportunity back then. Their album Elemental came out that year, probably one of their finest for me. I have seen them play many times since then but I am quite excited as tomorrow I have another chance to hear them in Vilnius, this time it’s @sodas2123 where my great friend @hilezoda is making it happen. Come and drift away with me, it is always worth it when those two are in front of the speakers.

On Dec 3rd and 4th of 2010 I have joined forces with @splitpulse to organise my first event and formed DAI just a few months after my first ‘public’ gig. Our first guest was Marcel Heese from Tresor and I am forever grateful that he agreed to crash on my sofa for a few days, play Vilnius and Kaunas and inspire a decade of events. All we cared about was good music, likeminded people and a place to lose yourself. I probably still have some back pain from the days of huge vinyl bags but I have formed true relationships there that continue to this day and that is priceless. It all happened at The Lift which was the perfect breeding ground for ideas and community where the only distraction was music. DAI was a project that has ended but will live on forever at least for me. Today marks the release of a wonderful compilation called ‘Entrusting Flame’ where @undveld__ has gathered 18 tracks and one of them is mine. Called ‘Cities Laid Bare’ is a reflection of the turbulence we encounter this decade. So happy to be part of this, such quality music throughout and of course very happy to see what Arnas is doing with his label. Thank you all for taking the journey with me on Friday, I am still buzzing from it all. It was a pleasure to perform and test out some new grounds and sounds in that space with that sound and lights. It was all in sync and performance by Andy Stott afterwards fit the night perfectly. I appreciate the hard work that @hilezoda put in to make it all work! My live show is constantly evolving and never the same with lots of experimentation. I’m very excited to see where it will take me the next time and that next time should be in a few weeks in a church, hopefully more info very soon! Dabar ji puikiai žinoma šioje scenoje - grojusi pagrindiniuose vakarėliuose ir festivaliuose visoje Lietuvoje, stovėdama už pulto kartu „Opium Vilnius“ ir „gallery 1986“ bei debiutavusi „Love international festival“. Kartais ją gali išgirsti ir Berlyne. @simaitislsar – dar geriau žinomas kaip Less Feeling arba Big Tasty – per 15 metų metų Šarūnas aplankė daugiau negu 3000 vakarėlių, per kuriuos susiformavo atlikėjo muzikinis stilius, netelpantis į jokius rėmus – tie, kurie girdėjo, tikrai gali patvirtinti. Ir visai nenuostabu – scena dalijosi su pačių įvairiausių žanrų atlikėjais, tokiais kaip: Palms Trax, Bradley Zero, TamaSumo, Lone, Paquita Gordon ar sunkiasvoriais Héctor Oaks, Blawan, Marcel Dettmann, Francois X, Antigone, Tijana T, Identified Patient ar I Hate Models. @hilezoda aka Benas - SODAS 2123 muzikinės programos kuratorius, bei kolektyvo „Isla to Isla" narys. Jis žinomas dėl savo ribas plečiančio požiūrio į muziką, o miksai – kruopščiai kuruojama patirtis, nepaisanti žanrų ribų ir kviečianti klausytojus į kelionę po nepažįstamas vietoves bei garsovaizdžius. Not many things are better than green leaves and blue skies, have been enjoying plenty of that this summer with my family and I can’t get enough. While I have been happily ignoring social media there’s no better place to share the recent work I have done at the beginning of the summer. I wanted to share this mix I have recorded for @temple.recordings , a blend of old and new, tribal and direct, fluid and solid.. this is my take on club music recently. I hope to share these sounds with you on a proper soundsystem this year but until then.. enjoy the mix!
