I thought mats were enough, but with little kids and lots of energy, they definitely are not. Thankfully I found @slipnix.safety and can breath again while the kids run around the bathroom with wet feet. SlipNix goes invisible on your tiles and adds real grip... it only took me 15 minutes and it's good for a full year. Cant wait to do my own bathroom next!

Dont mind me, ill be here tearing up all day 🥹💛 cant believe our sweet little wild child is 5 years old. Feels like she will always be a little baby in our eyes.
Theres really no words to describe her or what shes done for me. She is the spice that our little family needed, the one who makes us laugh till our stomachs hurt, and the one who tests us in ways we didnt know we would be tested. As she gets older though we see the incredibly sweet and thoughtful side of her too, the gentle side that puts kindness above all and genuinely cares about those around her.
Always praying for the best for all our kiddos, may they always be blessed, protected and guided in the best way.

A question I get every time I do an Ask Me Anything - kids routines, after school schedules, and how it all works. This was also something I ALWAYS asked my friends when Alisha was younger, so finding the balance was definitely a work in progress.
Sharing a dump of what our schedule looks like, the things that are consistent and the things that are more flexible.
A little reminder that everyones routines/days will look different and that's totally okay. Some people have 2 parents who work in person, others have kids who finish and start school a lot sooner, some families have a SAHM parent, others are juggling way more activities for multiple kids... its different for everyone. My main advice would be figure out your non-negotiables and plan around those.

✨️ A Week Off = Mini Reset ✨️
I took a whole week off work last week and went into it with a plan for each day. Chores to do around the house, spaces to declutter, and more... and honestly, I did knock out a bunch of things I had been wanting to get done, but the best part - the unplanned and spontaneous "lets go for it moments".
My highlights:
- "just because" blowdry from @simmieshairnbeautylounge 💆♀️
- tackling those junk drawers 🙌
- mid-day rainy runs (3/3 this week!)
- cooking because I had TIME 🥘
- @netflixca Million Dollar Secret s2 - SO GOOD!
I'll never pretend the working life isn't for me, it gives me the joy, the structure, the version of myself I love best. But this week reminded me that rest isn't wasted time. Its okay to sit and relax - because that's the best kind of recharge!

I didn’t expect this little box to become part of our daily routine… but here we are 🤍
We’ve been trying to cut down on screen time after school, and @tonies.ca has been such a game changer. The girls can just pop a character on, listen to stories, songs, even little learning moments, and I get this time to prep dinner or just relax.
But my favorite part? You can actually record your own audio. I’ve been adding duas and little messages for them and it’s the sweetest thing watching them listen back 🥹

One of my biggest lessons as an adult: some seasons of life aren’t meant to be handled alone, especially when youre balancing a work, kids, extracurriculars, your own health, a home and more! We have shifted our thinking from “who’s doing what” to “how do we make this work as a team?” Some days when im not at 100%, he jumps in and takes the load. Other days when he's a long day at work, I take over. Its simply about knowing what we need and willing to work as a team to get things done.
Now, everyone helps in their own way, even the little ones. Not perfectly. Not always smoothly. But consistently. Because we’re not just managing a home… we’re building a life together, and our little shadows are watching how we do it 💛

Some days feel really hard, especially when youre not at a 100% yourself.
The noise, the mess, the constant “mom, watch this”…
And I catch myself just trying to get through it.
But then I remember something I once read...
this is where our relationship is being built. My voice today will be their inner voice forever. I am their entire world.
These moments will always be imprinted into my memory too… and I know ill want to look back on them and smile 🤍
