Last month at the CSW was more than just being present. It was about building partnerships that drive real, lasting change.
Our ED, Oluwaseun Ayodeji Osowobi, spent the CSW by engaging with global leaders, sharing STER’s survivor-led approach, and ensuring our voice is present where key decisions on gender justice are made.
From youth leadership panels to strategic conversations with UN agencies and city officials, to moments of recognition. Every engagement is pushing us closer to a world where women and girls can live free from violence.
Because real change happens when conversations turn into commitment and commitment turns into action.

April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month.
For 25 years, the world has been speaking up, pushing forward, and demanding change.
But awareness is only the beginning.
Because behind every statistic is a person.
A story.
A voice that deserves to be heard and believed.
This month, we are reminded that ending sexual violence requires more than awareness.
It requires action, accountability, and collective responsibility.
At STER, we continue to stand with survivors.
To challenge harmful norms.
To push for systems that protect, not fail.
Together, we act.
Together, we change.

Profits from the walk will be going to @standtoendrape (stand to end rape initiative)

Thank you @acaslaw for an insightful dialogue.
Improving access to justice for women and girls requires legal reform, institutional commitment, and collective advocacy.
At Stand To End Rape Initiative, we remain committed to ensuring that survivors are supported and that systems evolve to deliver justice more effectively.
Thank you to everyone who joined us today.
Tomorrow, we go beyond legislation to ask an important question: When the law exists, why does justice still feel out of reach for many women and girls?

Most people think of gender-based violence as something they would immediately recognise and condemn.
In reality, it often appears in quieter ways, in workplaces without support systems, in families that prioritise silence, in digital spaces where harassment is treated as entertainment, and in systems that make justice difficult to access.
These environments are not just created by perpetrators alone but are also shaped by the responses of everyone around them.
This carousel explores the roles different people and institutions play — as colleagues, employers, friends, lawyers, family members, and digital citizens — and the small actions that shift us from bystanders to witnesses who act.

So pleased that the Australian Mission could welcome Oluwaseun Ayodeji Osowobi, founder and Executive Director of @standtoendrape based in Nigeria.
Oluwaseun is the inaugural @womensinternationalforum Youth Award winner.
Thanks to Antoinette Merrillees for your leadership as Vice President of the Women’s International Forum in helping make this happen.
Justice should not stop at the existence of laws. It must be reflected in access, protection, and accountability.
As part of our International Women’s Day 2026 campaign, we are hosting a dialogue that looks beyond legislation to examine the realities women and girls face when seeking justice in Nigeria. From legal frameworks to institutional response, the conversation will explore where progress has been made and where gaps still remain.
Join us for “Beyond the Law: Justice for Women and Girls in Nigeria,” a conversation on gender-based violence, justice reform, and the systems designed to protect.

Rights. Justice. Action. For All Women and Girls.
At Commission on the Status of Women #CSW70 at @unitednations Headquarters in New York, our ED @ayodejiosowobi represented Stand To End Rape Initiative in a day of powerful conversations and global advocacy aligned with International Women's Day 2026.
Swipe through to see highlights from the day.
During the engagements, Oluwaseun was honoured with the Women’s International Forum Youth Award, presented by Antoinette Merrillees of the Women's International Forum—recognising the impact of survivor-led leadership in advancing justice for women and girls worldwide.
From strategic conversations with Women in Finance Board members, including Mai Pham, exploring pathways for economic justice for women and survivors…
To amplifying grassroots solutions during an interview with UN Radio…
To engaging with Maggie Roache of the Girls x Women UN Foundation on strengthening collaboration for women and girls globally…
Each moment reinforced a simple truth:
Survivors must not only be heard. They must be centred.
This year’s International Women’s Day theme: Rights. Justice. Action is more than a message.
Rights without access are meaningless.
Justice without accountability is hollow.
Action without inclusion leaves too many behind.
At STER Initiative, we believe real change happens when survivors lead, when movements are resourced, and when partnerships move beyond promises to real impact.
The work continues. And we are grateful for every partnership, recognition, and opportunity to advance justice for women and girls everywhere.
