as a mother, this news terribly aches my heart every time! ❤️‍🩹 the last frame is truly the hope in the children's heart while they live the atrocities that dawn on them. right now, South Sudan is on the brink of famine, AGAIN. more than 1 million people are now facing severe food insecurity due to the worse floods since the 1960s 😩 mind you, we have been facing famine, war, ethnic cleansing, and genocide for over 60 years! children and women suffer the most... the floods? they have been happening for a while...the past few months have been the worse...but still, not much help, support or media coverage... until yesterday when @abcnews did a well detailed segment about the floods, FINALLY! i hope the world will take action. thank you @davidmuirabc for opening your heart to tell this super hard story of just a small segment of the many issues the children of South Sudan face 🙏🏿 yet, unfortunately, with everything else happening in the world, attention and funding have moved away from South Sudan and it seems our cry for help is always answered with silence 🤐 So now more than ever, I AM in crucial need of my community to support us as best as possible if you are capable. learn more, donate, share... the link is in my bio 🙏🏿 + remember, one thing about us, South Sudanese, we will always be resilient but its sad and inhumane how much resilience is expected out of us as humans and human children at that! 😡 i have NEVER had a childhood, but maybe these children can. the children need us! they need our help. INDIGENOUS SUDAN IS SUFFERING FOR WAY MORE FAR THAN years @bbc ⚠️ ** This episode contains some very distressing details, including of killings, sexual violence and the experiences of children in war** More than 150,000 people have been killed and about 12 million have been forced from their homes since Sudan’s civil war began in 2023. But more than two years on, the reasons for the conflict are still not clear.
