Plant Relations Lab (@wei.iyu @noora.yulia @stanbam1 @linseyrendell ) is hosting a reading circle this afternoon to collectively read and think-with texts from @jessicajlee @ninamingya @kyomaclear — and you’re invited ✨ This session is a pre-gathering to tomorrow’s colloquium: « Many-Tendrilled Reaching and Writing: A workshop on creativity, plants, and the craft of writing » with @jessicajlee 🌱✏️ Hosted by @hgkbasel_criticalmedialab and Plant Relations Lab, as part of the CML «Rehearsing» Thread and @hgkbasel_transversaldesign programme, the colloquium invites participants to consider how stories of migration and belonging transverse human and more-than-human experiences, approaching « reaching towards » as a method of getting as close as possible to life’s complexities — where fragments, gaps, and poetic interludes help us reach towards futures shaped by community, renewal, and justice. It values process over product, working within soft containers that support slowness and emergence. Acousmo Saturday, 24.05.2025 , at [MigrArt Space, 20:30] Open for all We’re excited to start the Acousmo season with many different great artists around our communities . Tini Aliman [SG/DE] @tintralala is a sound artist and composer working between theatre, film, and live sound. Her work explores spatial acoustics, ethnomusicology, and sonic cartographies, and has been presented internationally at institutions like the Singapore Biennale, ZHdK, and SFMOMA. Stanford Chen [US/CH] @stanbam1 is an interdisciplinary artist and poet with a background in cancer biology. His participatory installations explore diaspora, queer identity, and ancestral memory through movement, storytelling, and communal rituals. Kay [CH/AUS] @kkbubbles_ is a sonic artist and curator working with sound ecologies, intercultural identities, and queer-feminist approaches. Through field recordings and listening-based practices, they create spaces of care, curiosity, and collaboration. After the live sets and shared improvisation, we continue the night with DJs: ZION @zion.isaiahhh – serving high-energy, hybrid sets blending Caribbean bass, queer club sounds, and global rhythms. FUBU Soundsystem – music for us, by us.
