Dahan is finally out! I took a slightly different approach to the drums for this. We usually do the verse-prechorus-chorus form in our songs, and my approach to that would be to build the drums up per section. Pero dahil “Dahan” nga yung kanta, I thought a progression from the verse to chorus where the drums “build down” would help drive the song’s message. Parang heart beat yung peg sa chorus with the beat doubling up on the refrain and for the rest of the song. I was hoping to capture the feeling of falling in love — slowly, then all at once.
Sobrang saya rin ng shoot namin for this! I asked our stylist, Carvey, for a more masc/androgynous look for the styling. Matagal ko na rin gusto mag skirt over pants moment, at natupad ang pangarap ko hehe. I also asked Aira, our make up artist, for more conturing para mas masc ang dating sa make up, but I welcomed some of the additional colors for a feminine edge. The coifed hairstyle put everything together. Super happy with the way things turned out!
