Big thanks to @holidayrecords , @stack.records and all the vendors who turned Supreme HQ into a record swap this past Saturday, with @tbc.radio broadcasting live all afternoon. Coffees were poured. @drinkalmighty ’s were cracked. Crates were dug through. Someone definitely said “I’m just browsing” before leaving with three records under their arm. A very nice way to spend a Saturday. Let’s do it again soon.

Wild Things - #Jiyu
[Dubsoul Records] LP Genre: #jazz #spiritualjazz Mood: Winding Down ………………………………………….…………. Following the strong reception of their second album, Totem of Quiet Mystic (2023) Jiyu have earned praises from outlets such as Jazzwise, Enlace Funk and The Chillout Tent, as well as support from a wide range of iconic DJs including Patrick Forge & Chris Coco. The singles to this new album, Cumulus & the Subterranean, Smell of Fire and Deep Woods, have immediately been embraced—drawing glowing reactions and airplay from dj’s like, Phil Cooper, Dj Vadim, Fred Everything, David Patterson, Jon Kennedy and Curtis ColinOn this third album from Jiyu, the Copenhagen band stretch their cosmic–spiritual jazz language into deeper, wilder terrain. Dropping April 10th on vinyl and digital via Dubsoul Records, the record captures six musicians in full telepathic flight, recorded at 12 Ton Studio in Copenhagen. Across eight tracks, elastic basslines, jazz-dub-soul—tinted drums and percussion, Wurlitzer and jazz-guitar glow and flute-swept atmospheres drift between grounded groove and open-sky improvisation, while guest vocalist Mai Lan Doky adds dreamlike textures on Cumulus & the Subterranean. From the shuffled broken-beat pulse of Smell of Fire to the slow-burn haze of Deep Woods, the Wild Things album is a rich analogue-soul excursion—earthy, exploratory and tuned to the outer frequencies. ………………………………………….…………. → Members Stack Points → Buy 4 Get 10% Off www.stackrecords.co.nz #MusicForYourMood

Movin’ Scent - #BudaMunk
[P-VINE] LP Genre: #hiphop #instrumental #japanesehiphop #underground Mood: Day Thinking ………………………………………….…………. Japanese beatmaker “BudaMunk” has built a truly global career through sessions and collaborations with artists such as Jansport J, Willie B, and J. Lamotta, releasing music on respected U.S. labels including Delicious Vinyl and Fat Beats. Now, his 2018 beat album Movin’ Scent, originally released on Japan’s Dogear Records, finally receives its first-ever vinyl pressing via P-VINE. Movin’ Scent showcases BudaMunk’s deep musicality and wide stylistic range. The album features contributions from TSuggs (Tony Suggs)—keyboardist for Roy Hargrove’s The RH Factor and the fifth pianist of the Count Basie Orchestra—as well as DJ Yuze, a Japanese hip-hop OG now active on the jazz scene. The record also includes a long-awaited collaboration with mabanua, mellow-madness style beats featuring cavalier (known for his work with 5lack and Iman Omari), and hard-hitting rap tracks with ISSUGI and Senninsho. Spanning 13 tracks, Movin’ Scent moves seamlessly between jazz-inflected instrumentals, soulful beat tapes, and underground hip-hop, making it an essential vinyl release for fans of modern beats, jazzy hip-hop, and international groove culture. ………………………………………….…………. → Members Stack Points → Buy 4 Get 10% Off www.stackrecords.co.nz MusicForYourMood

Of The Earth - Shabaka
[Shabaka Records] Cornflower Blue LP Genre: #electronic #jazz #jazzfusion #spiritualjazz #avantgarde Mood: Day Thinking ………………………………………….…………. ‘Of the Earth’ was entirely written, produced, performed and mixed by Shabaka. It’s a deeply personal album which establishes Shabaka as a new form of instrumentalist/producer and shows the musical range that connects his dance based work from groups Sons of Kemet and The Comet Is Coming to the intricate textural sound world of his recent solo works (‘Perceive its Beauty, Acknowledge Its Grace’, ‘Afrikan Culture’) . Beats and loops made on portable devices whilst on the road lay a foundation for choral flute melodies to soar within. Sequences of electronic rhythms outline a story of diasporic progression and words contextualise the record’s lyrical framework. Shabaka raps on the album - “I’ve never rapped before but was actually inspired by André 3000’s courage in exploring new dimensions with fearlessness and sincerity; I decided to find my voice on this album”. ………………………………………….…………. → Members Stack Points → Buy 4 Get 10% Off www.stackrecords.co.nz Music For Your Mood
