We’re proud to announce the Kim? Summer Residents 2025: Sui Lam 林淼, Kamil Bouzoubaa-Grivel, Sebastian Koeck, and Carla Wirsching.
This summer marks the inaugural edition of the Kim? Summer Residency, welcoming four international artists and researchers to Riga, Kim?’s future home at Hanzas 22, to work on their individual projects and engage with the city’s cultural fabric. Their practices—spanning visual art, architecture, and critical writing—bring diverse, transnational perspectives into conversation with the local context. We warmly congratulate the selected residents and look forward to hosting them this summer!
Kamil Bouzoubaa-Grivel (
@kamilbouzoubaagrivel ) is a French-Moroccan artist whose work navigates the space between digital and manual image-making, transforming virtual elements into hand-drawn forms. He has exhibited internationally and received numerous awards, including the Mustaqbal Prize (2024) and the Takesada Matsutani Prize (2020).
Sui Lam 林淼 (
@ssusui_ ) is a multidisciplinary artist, designer, and writer from Hong Kong, currently working across the Nordics, Baltics, UK, Taiwan, and Japan. Their practice explores language, identity, and personal narratives through audiovisual media, photography, printmaking, and multilingual writing.
Sebastian Koeck (
@sebaskoeck ) creates site-specific installations that explore absence, memory, and the poetic potential of vernacular material. His work reflects on history, chance, and the exhibition format itself as a medium for resistance and reflection.
Carla Wirsching (
@carla_wir ) is a German architect and researcher focused on the heritage of socialist modernism in post-Soviet countries. She currently works at TU Munich and contributes to architecture-related publishing, including the Zurich-based journal archithese.
