Pulses mark the boundaries of your safe habitat. Dry from the rain beneath a tin awning of the skelbimai. Cushioned from the beatings of the forest floor inside a rattling Volvo. Tales from the mouth of distant & oblique ancestors guide you through a summer storm. _ Originally composed for a DIY quadraphonic tent erected by Michael Holland @keswicklemon

A recording of last months live show on @palanga_street_radio is now up in the archives. Listen for hot air balloons, melting snow, big rusty doors and magic rings from Kaunas alongside some improv on synthesizer and incomprehensible banjo for the hour. Thanks to PSR for welcoming me. ❤️

Gentle and jarring noise, improvised sound collage & unrefined field recordings tell a story of Inis Arcáin, relived through resonators and rumbling distortions. Inis Arcáin lies off the coast of Co. Cork. I spent a week camping there with the day flying moths, somewhat tropical flowers and also the normal night time flying moths. Each day was spent collecting sounds, taking photos and making drawings. There, the wind cleared my ears. Flagpoles sang to me, crabs tapdanced on my feet, and the waves gathered to play wet drumrolls on the stones. Once back home, having cleaned the sand from its USB port, I let my recorders contents spill in to a four track tape recorder. Listening back to the sounds and remembering moments as vividly as if they were photographs. Once the tape came to an end, I rewound it and using a synthesizer, horseshoe, dictaphone and dried tufts of grass, played two passes of musical accompaniment to them, using their abstract rhythms and changes in mood as the score to play to. Inis Arcáin will air on @ooo_radio Tuesday next week at 15:30 EET / GMT+2. A zine & cassette will follow should you miss that.
