Throwing it back to SST Makerspace 2.0 last May, where students didn’t just build robots but engineered solutions.
More than a competition, it was a glimpse into the future of African Industry.
We saw systems executing precision tasks that mirror the industrial automation found in modern manufacturing plants. From 3D-printed custom parts to complex control logic, our students proved they are ready to drive the next wave of local production.

Your Product is NOT a Business! Workshop 2 of the Maker to Maker Initiative at the Enterprise Development Centre (EDC) was a massive reality check. Facilitators Halima Rabiu and Dr. Stanley Ibeku pushed our students to stop thinking like builders and start acting like founders. They highlighted that success isn't just a working prototype; it’s a repeatable system that solves a customer’s #1 frustration.
We learned to avoid the subsidization trap by valuing our labor and accounting for the invisible overhead costs found in debugging and failed cycles. Huge thanks to the EDC team for teaching our makers that price is determined by the value delivered, not just the cost of parts. Time to build with purpose and price with confidence!

Africa’s hardware future belongs to those who understand both engineering and value. Through the Maker-to-Market Initiative, our students are moving beyond prototypes to build solutions that are practical, affordable, and market-ready.
In collaboration with the @enterprisedevelopmentcentre , we are training a new generation of hardware engineers to think like venture creators. We are learning that success isn’t just a working prototype; it is a repeatable system that solves a customer’s #1 frustration. By valuing our labor and accounting for invisible overhead, we ensure our solutions are as scalable as they are innovative.
📽️Special thanks to @mazi_lenz for capturing these beautiful moments!

Throwback to our first technical workshop! 🚀
On March 28th, the SST Makerspace kicked off Workshop 1 of the Maker to Market Initiative. We were hosted by the team at Generative CAD Services Limited, an additive manufacturing and fabrication firm at the forefront of hardware innovation.
The goal? To ensure our students’ building processes are as professional and technically sound as possible.
A huge thank you to the CEO of @generativecad Mr. Chukwubuikem Felix Amaefule and his team , for sharing his invaluable expertise and mentoring these young minds. Your support is instrumental in democratizing hardware design for the next generation.
Onward to the build phase!

At SST Makerspace 2.0, bringing our vision to life and empowering student builders came with its share of early challenges. During that stage, Cedric Masters stood out as one of the first organizations to believe in the vision, making early investments that helped move the initiative forward.
As a forward-thinking company in the automotive industry with a strong interest in advancing manufacturing and assembly capabilities in the automobile industry, Cedric Masters continues to demonstrate a commitment to innovation and industry development.
We look forward to continuing the work of empowering student innovators and building the hardware and manufacturing future that Africa needs.
