Sometimes the real value of a program is best understood through the voices of those who have experienced it. In this reflection, we hear insights shaped by experience honest thoughts about leadership, learning, and the kind of perspective that comes from being part of a community committed to growth. At the Healthcare Management Program, the conversations go beyond theory. They challenge how healthcare professionals think about leadership, systems, and the decisions that shape quality care. Africa’s hardware future belongs to those who understand both engineering and value. Through the Maker-to-Market Initiative, our students are moving beyond prototypes to build solutions that are practical, affordable, and market-ready. In collaboration with the @enterprisedevelopmentcentre , we are training a new generation of hardware engineers to think like venture creators. We are learning that success isn’t just a working prototype; it is a repeatable system that solves a customer’s #1 frustration. By valuing our labor and accounting for invisible overhead, we ensure our solutions are as scalable as they are innovative. 📽️Special thanks to @mazi_lenz for capturing these beautiful moments! #innovations #newtechnology #hardwareengineering #venturecreation #africatech #nigeriatech #sstmakerspace #reelsvi̇ral #ʀᴇᴇʟsᴠɪᴅᴇᴏ

As conversations around sustainability continue to evolve across the development and SME ecosystem, there is a growing need for organisations to move beyond survival-focused models towards building institutions that can adapt, scale, and remain impactful over time. During our recent Breakfast Session on Sustainability for Social Change, we convened SME owners, founders, nonprofit leaders, and ecosystem stakeholders committed to building organisations that create sustainable and lasting impact. The conversations focused on the realities of building sustainable organisations, including: • Developing systems that outlive individuals • Balancing financial sustainability with social impact • Building structures for long-term growth and resilience • Making values-driven decisions in challenging moments Emphasis was on how sustainable impact is built intentionally through consistency, strong systems, and long-term thinking. Beyond the conversations, the session featured a breakout session which also created an opportunity for collaboration, knowledge sharing, and connection among SMEs and social impact leaders working across sectors but united by a shared commitment to driving meaningful change. At EDC, we remain committed to creating platforms that strengthen institutions, encourage sustainable growth, and equip organisations to continue creating impact for generations to come. #Sustainability #SocialImpact #Leadership #SMEs #InstitutionBuilding

Graduation was never the goal. Transformation was. Looking back at the first cohort of the Non-Oil Export Academy, what stands out isn’t the certificates. It’s the shift in how these founders now see opportunity. Most entrepreneurs don’t struggle with ambition. They struggle with access, structure, and the right guidance to translate local success into global scale. That’s the gap this program was built to close. In partnership with @sterlingbank and EDC, we didn’t just teach export processes. We challenged assumptions, rebuilt strategy, and equipped businesses to operate beyond borders with intention, not guesswork. The real outcome? Founders who no longer ask, “Can I export?” But instead, “How do I compete globally and win?” That distinction matters. Because exporting isn’t a tactic. It’s a positioning decision. And when done right, it changes the trajectory of a business entirely. This first cohort represents what’s possible when SMEs are given more than information. They’re given clarity, structure, and a pathway into global markets. We’re not just building exporters. We’re shaping globally competitive African businesses. #NonOilExport #EDCCommunity #SterlingBank #GlobalTrade #SMEGrowth

Your Product is NOT a Business! Workshop 2 of the Maker to Maker Initiative at the Enterprise Development Centre (EDC) was a massive reality check. Facilitators Halima Rabiu and Dr. Stanley Ibeku pushed our students to stop thinking like builders and start acting like founders. They highlighted that success isn't just a working prototype; it’s a repeatable system that solves a customer’s #1 frustration. We learned to avoid the subsidization trap by valuing our labor and accounting for the invisible overhead costs found in debugging and failed cycles. Huge thanks to the EDC team for teaching our makers that price is determined by the value delivered, not just the cost of parts. Time to build with purpose and price with confidence! #sstmakerspace #makertomarket #enterprisedevelopment #hardwarestartups #innovations #entrepreneurship101 #nigeriatech #startupmindset

Nigeria’s agriculture sector contributes over 20% to GDP and remains central to livelihoods, jobs, and economic growth. Yet for many Agri-SMEs, the real challenge is not opportunity, it is the support required to scale sustainably. At Enterprise Development Centre, Pan-Atlantic University, we recognize that thriving businesses need more than funding. They need structure, market readiness, and strong advisory systems. That is why, in partnership with @agra_africa and supported by leading ecosystem enablers including @kaduna_businessschool @smedangov @gatesfoundation @kfw.de @germany_cooperations @rockefellerfdn EDC is driving the fully funded BDSP Certification Programme. This initiative is designed to build a new generation of Business Development Service Providers equipped to help Agri-SMEs: • strengthen operations • unlock finance • improve governance and • scale for long-term impact. At EDC, we do not just respond to business challenges, we build the systems that solve them. Because sustainable growth happens when entrepreneurs are supported by institutions that understand what it takes to grow. 🔗 Apply here: bit.ly/AG-BDSP-Training 📅 Application deadline: May 13th, 2026 #Agribusiness #SMEDevelopment #CapacityBuilding #SustainableGrowth #ThoughtLeadership
