@znmuae has officially opened its doors in Abu Dhabi – and we’re proud to share our role in bringing this landmark institution to life. Across six galleries, our team helped shape the museum’s narrative world - from large-scale films and interactive media, to soundscapes, spatial storytelling, across hundreds of digital and physical exhibits. It’s the most ambitious cultural project in our history, made possible through deep collaboration, craft, and cultural stewardship. Since winning the Prize in 2021, Haptic Architects has confirmed that the ideas behind HomeForest continue to shape their work, from the importance of nature to the value of interdisciplinary collaboration, which is a core principle for The Davidson Prize. Eleanor Greenleaf of Journey also emphasised the impact of working within a diverse, cross-disciplinary team, which included the poet LionHeart, who “brought a really interesting human level to [the proposal].” We couldn't agree more! The inaugural Davidson Prize-winning project was HomeForest, a digital and physical solution addressing the psychological challenges of home working grounded in the principles of biophilia, developed by an interdisciplinary team including: @squintopera @journeydotworld @hapticarchitects @codatocodaldn @lionheartfelt @yao_mjy @bio_id ⁠ The project draws on nature’s restorative benefits and the Japanese concept of shinrin-yoku; forest bathing. After winning the prize, Journey (which Squint/Opera is now a part of) helped to develop HomeForest into an Apple Vision Pro experience in 2024, featuring a digital twin of the user’s home virtually augmented to bring artificial nature into indoor environments.

Meet the Speakers AIP 39 Silvia Tossici is a Project Director at Squint / Opera, a Journey studio, bringing her creative vision and leadership to all aspects of production. As a trained architect, experienced 3D artist and filmmaker, Silvia develops creative treatments, storyboards, directs shoots, presents ideas to clients and guides the creative team.
