I spent a bunch of time painting and drawing by this diving platform at Lake Puula in Kangasniemi. I was drawn to it, just thought it was cool I guess. The water below was so inky dark, kinda spooky. I was G’ing myself up to try a ganer off it but just ended up doing regular backflip. So mental how some people can do backflips running forward. Was pr random hanging out middle of Finland alone but I don’t mind being alone - painting is a beautiful but also quite a solo endeavour - that’s why i do it in bursts, rather than all the time. Getting fired up for another burst of painting coming up soon. I’m going to make some work in India.

I visited this town in Finland called Hartola. A friend who is close to my heart said her folks were from there, and I was close by so..Driving into the town at golden hour, I saw a golden field swaying gently in the breeze - and I said fuck yea that’s type shi I’m after. Later in the studio I painted a figure moving across the field, like a time-lapse. Maybe one of her ancestors. She’s carrying something heavy across the field, not sure what. I figure rural folks carried things through fields back in the day.
