Beat the heat with a game-changing iced coffee method! ☀️❄️ Say goodbye to watery, acidic, or diluted iced filter coffee. I've been developing a new technique I call the Thermal Shock Method and brewing it during @pingminmarket International Coffee Week.
Why "Thermal Shock"? It uses the extreme temperature contrast of 100°C boiling water and near 0°C ice water to instantly lock in a full spectrum of flavours. The result? An iced coffee that boasts incredible aroma, a rich body, a complex flavour profile, and a lingering aftertaste without ever getting watery.
The Recipe (Thermal Shock Method): 👨🔬You'll need: A stopper brewer (Hario Switch/Clever Dripper), 20g coarsely ground coffee, 100ml boiling water, 100ml icy water, a server filled with ice.
⏲️ The Steps:
1. 00:00 - Lock brewer. Add 100ml boiling water. Stir to ensure all grounds are wet.
2. 1:00 - Unlock and let it fully drain. Lock again.
3. 1:30 - Pour in 100ml icy cold water. Gently stir the surface.
4. 2:00 - Unlock and let it drain completely.
5. 3:30 - Enjoy a perfectly balanced, undiluted iced coffee masterpiece over fresh ice!
The logic is simple but the results are profound. Perfect for Malaysia's eternal summer! 🥭
