Hey all! It's been a (long) bit... but I'm back and CosClouds are too! After months of development, the updated #CosClouds 2 is complete and stock is replenished. :) The new version is still the same great machine, but completely overhauled from the inside. The new version has very similar performance and layout, but has much more flexible project integration with the new switch system. I'm super happy with the new design, I really tried to improve the things I saw as issues and include missing features people have asked about from time to time!
I've been gone for a bit, and needless to say the past year has been weird. It's been 51 weeks since I've seen any cosplay friends at PAX East, and I haven't worn a costume since Blizzcon 2019 when I hit massive overworking burnout (did I even share that barbarian build?). Running a small business has been rough with global supply chains stopped and business closures in my state early last year. It's taken 6 months of prototyping and learning how to make PCBs to redevelop CosClouds, and in the middle of that I exhausted all my materials for building the original version. I've been spending time learning work-life balance, over the summer I got married, last week I adopted a cat (do you guys like cat pictures?). I've been thinking of my cosplay friends dearly, but I haven't had much of anything interesting to post. I'm really itching to build and paint so I'm looking forward to working on personal projects again soon. <3

Last year I took a relaxed version of my 3D printed Roadhog cosplay to the meetup and wish the event lasted longer - so many cool people to meet and talk to - I seriously had a blast. Interrupting that #blizzcon #concrunch to share I’m currently in love with resin printing. I’ve only briefly used a Form 2 before this, but these MSLA printers are changing everything! So many new possibilities at an affordable price! I picked up the #elegoomars (like so many others) and it’s been in heavy use for my Blizzcon build. Small parts have always been a pain to print and finish, but this machines makes finishing all those little complex pieces so much easier.

I had a ton of fun at last year’s event, and this year they’re hosting a costume contest with a chance to win a 3D printer! I’ll be a judge at the contest along with @cestlasara and @karolinalefay and we’re excited to see what you’ll bring.

Second, so happy to finally say I’ve found a new workspace that I’ll get to move into at the beginning of August. 😁 It’s been super nerve wracking figuring this out on a short timeline and limited budget...but it’s finally signed off on. Thanks to a few friends that also needed project and work space, we’re getting tons of space! Like..tons that we don’t even know what to do with yet. Feels good to be able to expand from my now extremely cramped 110 sq ft room! I’m truly excited about getting to build more tables and having more surfaces to work on. That being said, shop will likely be completely paused first week of August so I can go lug stuff around.
Third, I’m getting more full fledged business-y. Spoon Makes LLC now! 😱 Crazy! What a wild direction, I’m so thankful for all the support that has taken me this way! (BTW top space is old current crammed space. Bottom is my new private area, and then there’s an entire huge communal area too!)
