Happy Mother’s Day to the women out here making miracles look routine, holding it together with prayer, snacks, side-eyes, and just enough patience to survive. This Mother’s Day feels extra special because I’m celebrating the completion of my second book, Loud Louder and Me — stories of surviving parenthood with chaos, laughter, and love. Because… parenting without laughter is just exhaustion 😉 So today I celebrate every mother, bonus mom, auntie, grandmother, and woman loving loudly through the madness. May your coffee be strong, your naps uninterrupted, and your people remind you how deeply loved and appreciated you are. Cheers to motherhood, messy joy, and making it through with love leading the way. 💐

Dear Black Woman, I’m a proud mom, wife, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend. I am a woman who wears many titles with love and grace. An avid journaler, list maker, and planner, I have long turned to writing as a form of expression and release—a sacred space where my inner life can unfold freely onto the page. As the mother of two amazing young women, my oldest, 27 years old, holds a master’s degree in Journalism and works as a Junior Creative for a production company in Hollywood, CA, and my youngest, 22, is a doctorate student at Syracuse University in NY pursuing her AuD in Audiology, this project is personal. My first literary project, My Hero is M.O.M., Made Of Melanin, is a deeply personal offering rooted in her lived experience and spirit. It is a multidirectional, poetic tribute to the rich, layered experience of Black motherhood—a lyrical collection of odes, poetic reflections, and intimate narrative moments that speak to the heart of being both woman and mother. Driven by a passion to illuminate the beauty, resilience, and duality of Black mothers, I write with tenderness, fire, and a deep reverence for the women who nurture, lead, and evolve through generations. With every word, I seek to honor the complexity of motherhood and how it intersects with womanhood, the celebration of cultural pride, and the creation of a lasting tribute that feels like art in the hands and healing for the soul. Through My Hero is M.O.M., Made Of Melanin, Regina invites readers to sit at the table of shared experience—a table built on love, memory, sacrifice, and becoming. Come hear the story I wrote for you, Regina Reed Hill @spoken_exchanges - Centered.PHX (@centered.phx ) Storytelling Night-A live storytelling experience featuring real stories from Black folks. Each night centers authentic voices, shared memories, and the many ways Black life unfolds across the city.

I know y’all did not think that I forgot to thank the Bay Area for the love at my book signing on March 29th... I am a little late with this post, but definitely grateful!! Oakland… yeah, I was HOME 💛 Being in a room full of people who know you, love you, and remember your earlier versions? That’s a different kind of support. That’s the kind that hits your spirit a little deeper. I walked in still a little anxious, still like “alright now… let’s see how this goes.” But stepping into that space—surrounded by family, loved ones, and that Bay energy? Oh… y’all did what needed to be done. Thank you @kinfolxoak for providing the space!! To everyone who pulled up, showed love, stayed engaged, bought a book, hugged me, spoke life into me—thank you. To those who meant to come but couldn’t—I still felt the love. And to everyone who sent a text, a prayer, a “you got this”—trust me, it landed. I really do appreciate ALL the things. My Hero is M.O.M., Made Of Melanin is a collection of my journaled musings—real reflections from my motherhood journey… all the BIG feelings, all told from my point of view. Sharing this has been freeing. There were seasons where I felt like I was suffocating in the mom space. And writing was how I let some of the air out. Getting to this moment feels like a release… like I finally made room for what’s next. And more than anything, it’s been connecting. Being home reminded me that this isn’t just my story. There are so many women, so many mothers, carrying these same BIG feelings—figuring it out in real time, making meaning as they go. If you have not received your copy already and want to add a little beauty to your home library, you can grab a copy through the link in my bio. #MyHeroIsMOM#MadeOfMelanin #BlackMotherhood#MotherhoodJourney #BecomingHerWomenWhoWrite PoetryInMotionWordsThatHeal StoryOfBecomingCreativeWoman BlackWomenCreateAuthorLife spoken_exchanges

Phoenix… you showed up for me in such a beautiful way 💛 Walking into my first in-person book signing, I won’t even pretend—I was anxious, a little nervous, and honestly didn’t know what to expect. But what unfolded was something special. Thank you @grassrootzbookstore for providing the space!! To everyone who came through, stood in the room, shared space, and poured into that moment with me—thank you.
To those who thought about coming but couldn’t make it—I felt you too.
And to everyone who sent a message, a kind word, or good energy my way—I appreciate you more than you know. I appreciate ALL the things. My book is fondly titled, "My Hero is M.O.M., Made Of Melanin" and is a compilation of my journaled musings—reflections from my motherhood journey and all the BIG feelings that have come with it, written from my point of view. Sharing this has been… freeing.
An unplanned kind of freedom. There were seasons where I felt like I was suffocating in the mom space—and journaling became the way I let some of the air out. This journey to sharing? It feels like a release. Like I’ve made room for the next version of myself as a mother… and all the feelings I know are still on the way. And beyond that, it’s been connecting. Through this project, I’m finding my way to other women and mothers who have experienced—or are still navigating—the same BIG feelings. I am loving the stories, the moments, and the conversations around how you’re moving through it all and making meaning of it. Because this right here?
 This connection?
This is community!! If you’d like to add my book to your home collection, you can grab a copy through the link in my bio—or reach out to me directly, and I’ll make sure it gets to you 💫 With so much gratitude,
ME 🙂 #MyHeroIsMOM#MadeOfMelanin #BlackMotherhood#MotherhoodJourney #BecomingHer#WomenWhoWrite #PoetryInMotion#WordsThatHeal #StoryOfBecoming#CreativeWoman #BlackWomenCreate#AuthorLife #spoken_exchanges
