From an award-winning filmmaking team, "Make A Circle" follows a group of child care providers who are determined to change how society values the education of its youngest citizens. Weaving together the magic they create in the classroom, the struggles they endure at home, and their tireless activism for their profession, "Make A Circle" is a moving portrait of life as an early childhood educator and a promising blueprint for fixing our broken child care system.
After the screening, join us for an engaging discussion with early education leaders, working to improve the child care system in Spokane and beyond.
Discussion panelists:
Kerra Bower, Little Scholars Development Center & Raze Early Learning and Development Center
Bianka DeSure, Spokane Workforce Council & Inland Northwest Early Learning Alliance
Katia Jasmin, Parkview Early Learning Center & Creole Resources
Christine Mulate, Parkview Early Learning Center
Moderator: Luc Jasmin III, Eastern Washington Representative for Governor Bob Ferguson

🏆 THE RIDE just won the Audience Award for Best Short at Spokane International Film Festival - right alongside a Silver SPIFFy for Best Short.
But the Audience Award is the one that hits harder. No jury, just real people who sat in a dark theater with a full slate of strong films and chose ours as the one that stayed with them.
This is our 4th Audience Choice award. Turns out, people don’t just like this film - they want more of it.
We hear you. And we’re working on it. 🚗🌅
Thank you Spokane!

The Motorcycle Man screened to two sold out showings in Spokane @spokane_iff on Saturday as a part of the US Shorts program - which turned out to be a truly impressive block of films.
It was an assortment of Oscar-qualifying festival types (@theridefilm2025 and @max9neaace ), mesmerizing thesis films (@eleafilm and @trovathesis from @dodgecollege ), and a premiere from local filmmakers @marinathefilm (a thematic cousin to the @ashevillefilmfestval favorite @bluecollarpictures Generational). All well-directed, shot, acted - and well-written!
Thank you and congratulations to Pete Porter, the artistic director, as well as to the entire board, staff, and collection of enthusiastic and hard-working Spokane volunteers for including and introducing us to this exceptional event.
