Guys look I'm still shooting shows for my favorite bands (I promise I'm still a photographer, I'm just in a hermit era) :)
This show was such a blast, and honestly, all Splitjaw shows are, but I specifically want to give a shoutout to probably the most fun and respectful crowd I've ever photographed in. Not only was their energy just as amped as the band's but they moshed responsibly and were so respectful of everyone with cameras there. It's one of the many reasons why I still love the DIY scene after almost a decade in it.
Splitjaw's first tour just wrapped up, and I'm so insanely proud of them!! They have a stacked show this weekend, aaaand if you're not doing anything, I highly recommend going out to see them :)
We went to Pleasure Bay and Head Island with @still.burninghc but Nico and Maude already made this joke in their posts, Michelle Branch is gonna be pissed

I saw @splitjawhc band a few months back opening for Big Ass Truck at @subtchicago Upstairs, but I was doing some camera experiments and didn't get a lot of usable shots of a band that put on a kick ass show. Fast forward to 2026 and they're headlining a dope bill downstairs, and I wasn't gonna miss an opportunity to make good on some quality shots 😤📸
Splitjaw is sick btw 🤘 @splitmaude with no hyperbole has some of the best vocals in town, the rest of the band is super well rehearsed, and there's enough fire behind the songs to whip the crowd into a frenzy whether the people know the material or not 🔥👯♀️
Not exactly new at this point, but Splitjaw's EP "Truth & Reconciliation" has several banger tracks to check out, and they're gonna be playing in Chicago again on the 26th back from a 2 week east coast tour 🙌🎶 Hoping the time on the road has been nothing short of awesome for the whole band as they wrap it up tomorrow 🙏

I missed @bigassmftruck at Riot Fest, but I wasn't gonna miss an opportunity to see them on a chilly Thursday night! It was a packed out crowd for a weeknight triple-header that opened with @splitjawhc who I had never seen before but am looking forward to catching again soon, they were super dope and I really liked the stage presence and performance and they proved to be a perfect opener for this bill. Local legends, Si Dios Quiere played second to a hyperactive, VIOLENT crowd. They always put on a killer show and I WISH I could've captured it, but...none of the shots came out, so you'll just have to take my word that it was a killer set!! 🤘
BIG ASS TRUCK was slotted for well over an hour, but only needed about 30 minutes to tear the house down 🏚 a super cool set full of west-coast positivity and violent breakdowns that definitely scratched the itch for all the hardcore kids desperate to hit each other before the weekend even started 🤜🫷 and I was just glad to be posted up in the back keeping my face intact 😈📸 Thanks to all 3 acts for putting on a great show! (And thanks for showing my friend @adrizhong a great time at her first hardcore show 🙏🤘)
