Shop Ply Prototype 3
This is a lounge chair I made using a construction method I have been experimenting with for a few years. I make a “plywood” out of thick shop sawn veneers by glueing each layer perpendicular to the last.
The idea is to create a solid material that isn’t subject to the usual seasonal movements of wood as temperature and humidity levels change, similar to plywood. But unlike plywood it can be refinished many many times and is much stronger.
It also has the added benefits of making the wood much more rigid, so you can use thinner material. My ultimate goal is to make furniture out of this “plywood” that can be shipped anywhere.

This by far the most useful piece of furniture I have made. It is counter height and has more than doubled the counter space in every apartment I have lived in. It is made with European steamed beech

This Cherry bookcase is one of my favorite things I have made. It was made in two halves and then glued together connecting at the top and bottom shelf. It was a bear to construct but I am happy I didn’t deviate from my original plan.

This nightstand was made for someone very dear to me. She had to wait a while to get it, but according to her it was worth the wait. It is Europe steamed beech with a white hardwax oil finish.

This small table is one of the first pieces of furniture I ever made, with a lot of help from @thefurniturejoint . It is instrumental in me believing I could be a furniture maker.

Crafted this sheet music cabinet with inked maple and Sitka spruce drawer fronts to complement a beautiful harp. This one had some tricky fold down drawer fronts.
