It’s funny when I think back to where it all started. I told myself I didn’t want to teach group fitness classes and I was only getting certified because it seemed like fun. Now I know that telling myself this was just a means of protection, of self preservation. Because what if I wasn’t good enough to teach? I couldn’t bear to face the feeling of failure, so instead I just pretended to not want something I deeply knew I needed.
Fast forward through getting my feet wet. Learning a lot about myself, movement, and community - and finally realizing this was something not only I enjoyed, but something I might be good at.
I can still remember every detail of the original @sweatsessions auditions like it was yesterday. But what I remember most is the voice inside my head still telling me I wasn’t good enough. Here I was, surrounded by the best fitness instructors and I still allowed myself to doubt that I belonged.
When I got my offer letter, I truly couldn’t believe it. So much so that I told my friends that I thought I was chosen only as an “alternate”. Someone who would play back-up to the “official” instructors that were chosen. I fought that narrative for the first 6 months of my training until I looked around one day and decided to wake the f up. I was chosen to be here because I had something that only I could bring to the table to make our team complete.
Today I sit here now on the eve before Sweat Sessions 2.0 opens its doors for the first time. And I get to be the first instructor to officially break in the stage - a responsibility I don’t take lightly. I get the privilege to move alongside so many interesting, capable, and confident women. But most importantly, I can say with certainty, that I am meant to be here, and so are you.
I can’t wait for this place to change your life as much as it’s changed mine. I’ll see you in studio 2.0 🤍

to all my introverts out there that think they need to be the loudest voice, or biggest personality…
🙅🏼‍♀️WRONG!
being a community builder has nothing to do with your charisma, and everything to do with how you make people feel

In case you missed it… the Bala Beam has officially entered Sculpt Interval ❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥
@splendra brought the heat with this spicy sumo + chest sequence that was athletic, challenging, and the kind of burn that sneaks up on you in the best way. The beam adds a whole new layer to this format and we’re already obsesseddd
be a fly on the wall for The Build @sweatsessions
this is one of my favorite formats to take and teach because it truly builds inner and outer strength. this class is at a slower pace than other formats, hyper focusing on form, control, and muscle fatigue đź’Ą
come BUILD with me Mondays at 7:15a, and Sundays at 8:15a 💪🏼
