Debuting in “Blurred Lines”, opening this Saturday, “Let Me Sow Love” exemplifies Andrea Spiridonakos’s analog resistance to the digital. The live-edge Cuban mahogany waterfall bench—enveloped in bespoke felted wool, alpaca thread, and glass beading—operates between the domestic and the wild. In this work, asymmetry, irregularity, and a sense of perpetual motion destabilize functional expectations. This piece offers a subtle surreal encounter that foregrounds touch, presence, and material tension.
Andrea Spiridonakos (b. Winsted, CT) is a multidisciplinary artist working across fiber art, sculpture, and experimental design. Informed by a prior career as a professional ballerina and a fashion design education from NYC’s FIT. Her work has been exhibited internationally at the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris in collaboration with Métiers d’Arts CHANEL, and nationally at institutions including the Newport Art Museum, Coral Gables Museum, and the Miami Design District. Her pieces are held in the permanent collection of the deYoung Museum and in private collections across the U.S. Spiridonakos is currently a resident at the @bakehouseartcomplex

Each coat had its own serial number that, when typed into my website, takes you to a private page dedicated to the making of that specific coat. How many hours it took to felt (usually 90+!), the names of the women who worked on it & detailed behind the scenes content of that coat being made. Originally sold @bergdorfs & featured in their legendary Holiday Windows.
Wow, thank you to @cultured_mag for mentioning my loveseat “When The Oceans Drank Atlantis” as one of the memorable pieces @collectiblefair this year! @spaceprincejulio I appreciate you 🧶 🧜♀️ 🫧
Honored to be selected to take part in the “Fashion” section @collectiblefair in NYC! 🧶 “When The Oceans Drank Atlantis” If you’re in town September 4 – 7th, come by! 🧜♀️
Totally 1 of a kind. 100s of hours of work to make this handmade ✋ piece. Loosely derived from my Mermaid Tail Coat which sold @bergdorfs and was featured in their holiday window display a few years ago.

Forged by hand to create a contrast of delicacy and strength. With this piece, I try to represent nature in a surreal, unnerving way.
