It’s official now: I have graduated from Reading. It’s been an interesting year. Met lots of wonderful people, drew some type and wrote 10,000 words on women printers in 16th century early modern Europe.
Looking forward now to the next challenge, but I don’t yet what that will be.

Finished the Practica Devanagari course last week with @kimyagandhi and this is what I made. The bold is still a work in progress, but the regular/light is mostly there.
I thoroughly enjoyed the course and Kimya is a great teacher, guiding you through the whole process of discovering a script you are not familiar with.

The past week we’ve been working on the digitisation of Baskerville’s Great Primer 16pt with Riccardo Olocco and Michele Patané as part of the Small Performances Baskerville Punches project. Our group got to work on the Roman straight from the punches - with a printed specimen for further reference. Amazing experience. Pretty pleased with the outcome.

It’s taken a year and a half of waiting patiently until this sign was lit at a time convenient to me ; But this sign is special. It’s the first in use of the typeface I made for the revival project at Type West in 2023. And it’s in the very village where I live.

Exactly a month ago I was in Paris for Now24 and I saw some letters on the Arc de Triomphe. Not quite the Trajan column, but good enough from a type perspective. Had some fun digitising it.
