Wonderful day at Waikato museum @tewharetaonga.nz seeing the excellent display of images by @levonbiss
These images are truly stunning. It is fantastic to have this exhibition on display in New Zealand, giving people the opportunity to see the incredible texture, detail, and structure found in invertebrates from around the world. A truly immersive experience, and well worth seeing if you are interested in photography, nature, macro work, or simply seeing the natural world in a completely different way.

Male Colaranea viriditas
Seems to be a fairly high number of Colaranea viriditas out at the moment, dispite the cold.

My image of a large female Porrhothele antipodiana on the front cover of New Zealand entomologist.
Great work by Dr Phil Sirvid, Shaun Thompson and many others.
Always nice to see my images published, and even more so when they are used to support science and education.
I took this photo of a female Porrhothele antipodiana, with @craigmckenzienz & @c.helliwell in Wellington, 2019 after leading a small macro walk for the PSNZ (Photographic Society of New Zealand) conference.

Auckland tree Weta moulting at night.
Most invertebrates moult under the cover of darkness, here in New Zealand I often find a lot of species don't start moulting until around 10pm.
