A Mexican-American designer and the founder of Spicy Streetwear, a Houston-based brand transforming sports apparel into one-of-a-kind pieces. 🇲🇽
After spending years playing softball, Frankie couldn’t find clothing that reflected both her style and who she was. So she started altering her own, cutting, reshaping, and reconstructing jerseys to make them fit her.
That process led her to something new: turning sports jerseys into corsets.
Raised in a culture shaped by strong, resilient women, and inspired by her grandmother’s strength and presence, Frankie carries that identity into everything she creates. Rooted in her experience as a Chicana woman, her designs blend sport with culture, incorporating unique elements to bring femininity and expression into pieces that were never made with her in mind!
More than design, her work is about representation, creating space for brown women to see themselves in sport, not just as athletes or fans, but as creators shaping how it looks and feels.
