Lately, it’s been hard to put my feelings into words. Everything happening in our communities feels super heavy and dark. So I chose to express myself the way I know best. Through makeup. I’ve been thinking about this look for a few days now and it finally came to life.
This look is inspired by monarch butterflies, a symbol of migration, resilience, and survival. 🧡✨ NO ONE IS ILLEGAL ON STOLEN LAND. IMMIGRANTS MAKE AMERICAN GREAT.

Selena has always been an inspiration to me since I was a little girl. My mom played her music all the time (still does) and she would tell me how she would sing her songs in talent shows and dress like her. 🥹 I’m pretty sure Selena is the reason why purple is my mom and I’s favorite color. 💜
I wanted to recreate her iconic look from the “No Me Queda Más” music video because it’s one of my favs!! Selena’s representation is so important especially for Tejanos because she put us on the map. ✨ Her influence and impact will never fade away. 🌹
