A warm welcome to
@SpenceGallery , presenting a vibrant exploration of color and form at Intersect Palm Springs 🌵
The gallery’s presentation features three artists whose practices blur the line between painting and sculpture. Laurie Skantzos’ wall-mounted sculptures—crafted from shaped and beveled plywood—use fluorescent paint to create a subtle, shifting glow that changes with the light throughout the day. Often acquired in sets, these works invite collectors to build their own compositions, transforming walls into what the artist calls “portals.”
Gordon Hopkins brings bold color and scale to still life, animating everyday objects through decisive lines and unapologetic chromatic intensity.
Mary Lai’s contemporary abstract works offer a dynamic collision of painting and sculpture, layering texture, process, and saturated colour into richly tactile compositions.
Based in Toronto, Spence Gallery is known for its carefully curated selection of affordable original modern and contemporary art, championing emerging and mid-career artists while remaining deeply accessible to designers, consultants, and collectors alike.
