SAVE THE DATE - launch Booklook 3 ๐ SpeesBookLookPak
Saturday 18 April
@amsterdam.warehouse
So so happy to invite you all for the launch of Booklook issue 3, about Speespak ๐๐
For this third Booklook issue, Anouk Beckers (1990), initiator of Booklook, teams up with Iris de Leeuw (1944), who designed the Speespak in 1966
@speespak
Speespak is a โplaysuitโ for Homo Ludens: the playful human of the future. This modular suit, with detachable and interchangeable trouser legs, provoked contact and created personal space. Speespak, developed within artist collective Luuks in Maastricht (NL) and part of Rijksmuseum collection since 2013, is newly activated by SpeesBookLookPak.
Booklook is a project by
@anouksbeckers
It is a series (2022-now) of unfolding, wearable
fashion publications that place clothing in a cultural, historical and social context. Each issue is made in collaboration with artists, designers and writers.
SpeesBookLookPak is the third Booklook issue and shares texts by artist/designer Anouk Beckers, artist Iris de Leeuw, Rijksmuseum curator Harm Stevens and with an introduction by cultural journalist
@tonya_azalea_sudiono
This Booklook issue publishes the original Speespak โ66 patterns. Unfolded, SpeesBookLookPak becomes a pattern for the jacket and trousers of the brand-new Speespak โ26.
Graphic design by Anouk Beckers, Iris de Leeuw in close collaboration with Jhen Chen
