๐ Workshop: Arts Academy, University of Split (May 4โ6, 2026)
The workshop (master's and postgraduate students, researchers, and emerging practitioners) will be led by Carmen Aguilar y Wedge (@car2_d2 ), a Mexican-American artist, designer, and performing artist. The workshop is free of charge and limited to 20 participants. Workshop application deadline: 6 April 2026 (confirmation: no later than 10 April 2026).
The workshop explores an alternative approach to speculative design through presence, attention, and play. Through structured exercises and playful explorations, participants will examine present-day questions and project them into speculative futures. Using the improvisational principle of โYes, and,โ participants will develop ideas collaboratively while embracing vulnerability, risk, imperfection, and absurdity. Whether sincere, poetic, or humorous, these speculative responses reveal new ways of thinking about the future and the role of play as a powerful tool in creative practice.
