Whirlwind weekend topped off with a maraschino cherry 🍒! Last night I shared the stage with @ptrani and @tedslittledream and we kicked off @sfdesignweek at @adobe learning about the crazy new tools in photoshop and illustrator. Huge thank you to @meghanlovesdesign for asking me to present my work and journey to sf creatives. It’s so cool to be able to share my work with @hyphenlabs and my love for clown. Remember: if you’re depressed, lonely, cold, bored, or stuck- we have great medicine at @churchofclown !!! 🤡 #adobecreatenow #adobe #adobeillustrator #sfdesignweek

Every third Sunday of the month. Hosted by Jessica Farber & Whoopsie Got a show coming up and want feedback? Craving an audience? Have a new idea you want to test? Want to develop something but don't know where to start? Bring it to Clown Jam—a space for physical theater makers to express and develop ideas, characters, and bits in front of others. No idea yet? Even better. Come ready to play and see what emerges. This isn't a class—it's open stage time for experimentation and feedback. Bring snacks, props, costumes, and whatever you need because here, we take silly seriously. Join local clowns Whoopsie & JFarb at Church of Clown. Everyone is welcome. $10-20 sliding scale donation helps us cover the space.

🐸 The workshop ended with a public exhibition of speculative prototypes developed through humor, embodiment, and absurdity. Two days without using our computers produced strange projects included Rosetta Pickle — a fictional preserved object that functioned as both food archive and future weapon — and The Cult of Souvenirs, a series of speculative objects designed to preserve the sensory memory of Split. A public urination proposal to bring cross cultural tourists closer and address the mystery of beer culture and our biology, a sense forward - non-visual dating app and a sympoietic Balkan Grandma / Pigeon surveillance system. Across all the work, humor became more than entertainment. It became a tool for investigating uncertainty, contradiction, and the emotional realities hidden inside “serious” futures. Thank you to everyone who brought curiosity, weirdness, and generosity into the room. ✨ To @ela.raciti for all your help and to to the @interakcije_net and @speculativeedu Academy’s director Ivica Mitrović for taking a chance on our strange and surreal proposal.

🌀 18 students. 2 days in Split. One speculative design workshop centered on humor as a survival technology. At the Arts Academy in Split, we explored what happens when design moves away from solutions and toward absurdity. Through movement, improvisation, free writing, gibberish, and collective rituals of misnaming the world, participants used performance and play to investigate possible futures. Together we mapped fears, desires, and values across personal, communal, and planetary scales — uncovering themes of tourism, food systems, climate change, war, health, and disconnection as fuel for speculative worlds and artifacts. Sometimes the future needs analysis. Sometimes it needs a clown.

Can humor be a tool to help us survive in the future? May 4-6 I will be workshop the idea of humor as a survival technology through the lens of speculative and critical design. Alongside students, practitioners and multidisciplinary designers we will attempt to lubricate the creative process and exploring the crossroads where design, absurdity and play meet and co-exists. Thank you to @speculativeedu for giving me the space to explore disciplines of design and performance art (clown). See you soon!
