The HSS Penny Doerge Adaptive Academy (PDAA) partnered with Special Strides in Monroe, NJ for a memorable day of connection, movement, and fun in a truly special setting. š“š¾
Our pediatric patients and their families enjoyed a farm adventure that introduced adaptive horsemanship and equine-assisted activities - integrating movement, learning, and joy every step of the way. The day included a scenic hayride across the 200-acre farm, meeting a 5-week-old filly and her mama, petting one-week-old baby goats, and getting creative with horseshoe crafts.
Special Strides provides PT, OT, and speech therapy services while also offering adaptive and recreational horsemanship experiences that help individuals build skills and confidence under the guidance of adaptive riding instructors.
Thank you to the incredible team at Special Strides, our staff, and volunteers for making this experience so meaningful for the families we serve.

This cold rainy day is the perfect time to reminisce about our beautiful day with @hspecialsurgery .
