This past summer, Spark the Brain brought together powerful women in business for a day of connection, collaboration, and community
From inspiring panelists, talented vendors, creative chefs, skilled makeup artists, and caring chiropractors, we created a space where small businesses could shine and grow together at the beautiful Black-owned venue Ivory on Park
Hereâs to supporting women who dream big, build boldly, and uplift one another every step of the way. Thank you @velofilmsnyc for capturing this event!

The renaissance has begun âĄď¸ đ§
Too many talented people are overlooked. Too many small businesses are burnt out. Too many creatives feel trapped in algorithms, forced to constantly post just to stay visible.
We wanted to build something different.
The Spark The Brain app is officially here and over the next few weeks weâll be moving our communities onto the platform to create a space built around real connection, real opportunities, and real support.
This is bigger than networking.
Weâre creating a space where entrepreneurs, creatives, and communities can promote themselves, discover opportunities, share resources, connect directly, and grow without feeling like success is being gatekept or limited to a select few.
Need a social media break but still want your business seen? Thatâs part of why we built this.
From community chats to business pinning, events, collaborations, and opportunities, this is about helping people grow together instead of competing for visibility.
Right now weâre still working through push notifications, but profiles are live and communities are officially starting to move over now.
The future is community driven.

Somewhere between the first brush stroke and the last⌠we remembered how to just be đ¨â¨
This wasnât about being âgoodâ at art.
This was about letting go⌠of pressure, expectations, and the weight we didnât even realize we were carrying.
At the Let Go, Letting Go experience, we gave ourselves permission to be kids againâfree, expressive, and fully present. No rules. No judgment. Just color, emotion, and release.
You can feel it in this moment⌠the shift, the softness, the return to self đż

A moment I never got around to sharing of me and @therealjaystone an inspiring comedian, interviewing @marlonwayans whoâs also from Chelsea. We interviewed him at the @hudson_guild on our platform during the @airmovie premiere.
Two questions I asked were about advice for people coming up in the community, which was really for everyone. I framed it that way because we were interviewing him right in the community he comes from, so it felt deeper than just a moment. It was about pouring back into the same place that helped shape him.
I also asked him, in relation to the Air movie, how Michael Jordanâs mom played such a pivotal role in his journey, and what his own mom was like for him.
Some rooms feel like events.
Others feel like the beginning of something.
â
Spark The Brain wasnât just a launch.
It was a room full of intention.
Conversations that carried weight.
Energy that didnât need to be forced.
People showing up not just to attend, but to connect, build, and expand.
You could feel it.
â
This film wasnât created to recap the night.
It was created to preserve it.
To hold the voices,
the moments in between,
the subtle exchanges that usually go unseen.
The commentary.
The presence.
The rhythm of a room that actually meant something.
â
Because whatâs being built here,
deserves more than content.
It deserves to be remembered correctly.
â
If youâve ever been in a space where you knew something bigger was forming in real time.
you understand this.

I said it that night and I meant it: âWeâre going up with whoever is down with us.â
This isnât just networking, this is alignment.
Appreciate everyone who came out and made it what it was.
More is coming soon. Stay locked in. đ§ â¨

I created Spark the Brain because I felt disconnected from what society was pushing⌠the norms, the egos, the limited opportunities that made us feel like we had to compete with each other or gatekeep. I was tired of not seeing us in certain spaces, tired of not even knowing what opportunities were really out there for us.
So I built what I wish existed.
Spark the Brain is against gatekeeping. Itâs about opening doors.
Itâs collaboration over competition.
Itâs real community, people actually showing up for each other.
Itâs a modern day Black renaissance where creativity, culture, and ownership meet.
Itâs going after your goals even when itâs uncomfortable.
Itâs that idea sitting in your mind right now waiting to be brought to life.
Most importantly, itâs you.
And Iâm grateful every day that my team believed in this vision and brought into it with me. This is bigger than me, itâs all of us.
Most people think connection starts when people meet, same room, same event, same conversation.
But if youâve been in enough rooms, you know⌠nothing really changes. Proximity doesnât spark anything, it just places people near each other.
What Spark the Brain understands, and what most spaces miss, is this: connection doesnât begin externally, it begins the moment something internal turns on.
And if you were in this room⌠you felt it.
Not in the obvious moments, but in the ones most people overlook.
In the way conversations didnât end when they were supposed to. In the way people stopped scanning the room and stayed where they were. In the way someone pulled out their phone not to disconnect, but to say, âyou need to see this,â or âwe should build on this.â
You could feel it in the body language. Circles tightening. Energy settling. People leaning in like they found something worth staying for.
Thatâs the difference between being in a room and being part of something happening inside it.
Because a network connects people, but a spark changes behavior. It moves people from passive to engaged, from moving through the room to becoming present in it, from âwhat do you do?â to âwhat are you building?â
And once that shift happens, youâre not just attending anymore.
Youâre involved.
That doesnât happen by accident. Thatâs intentional design. Thatâs understanding that brilliance isnât rare, itâs just usually disconnected.
And whatâs powerful about this, is that it doesnât stop in the room.
Spark the Brain is building an app designed to extend this exact feeling, this level of alignment, curiosity, and intentional connection, beyond a single night.
So itâs not just about who you meet.
Itâs about staying connected to the people you were meant to meet.
Shoutout to Hudson Guild for supporting something deeper than an event, an environment where people didnât just show up, they recognized where they belonged.
Because in a city full of access, alignment is the real luxury.
â
You deserve to be in rooms, and networks, where you donât have to force connection for it to happen.
