At some point in building something, there is a moment where the decisions stop being hard. And unfortunately, the cause is not as simple as the work getting easier.
Many times, this happens because something has been settled at a level deep enough that the choices start making themselvesâwhat to say yes to, what to walk away from, what the work is supposed to feel like before it is finished.
Founders who have been through it recognize this moment. So do the teams around them.
What causes this is not a strategy document, nor a rebrand, nor a new positioning exercise.
It is often the result of having understoodâprecisely, and early enoughâwhat the thing is actually organized around. And then holding that understanding through every decision that follows, including the ones that feel small.
The brands that carry this move through markets the way a compass moves through terrain. Not by choosing north repeatedly, but by being composed in a way that makes north inevitable.
Most of the work, it turns out, happens before the journey starts.

Creativity isnât just for geniusesâit exists within everyone. In Evolutionary Creativity, Eisuke Tachikawa reframes creativity as a natural process, much like biological evolutionâthrough Mutative Thinking (generating variation) and Selective Thinking (improving what works).
This exhibition, Kreativitas Evolusioner, held in Bandung (ITB Design Centre) and Jakarta (Dia Lo Gue, Kemang), translates these ideas into practice through motorcycles as everyday objects. In a world facing ecological and social crises, evolving our thinking may be the key to shaping a more creative future.

Ramadan Remedy 1447H: Into The Light
Stage 1: The Dark Around Us
Introduction: Into The Light Exhibition

The latest workshop in the Mandiri Sahabat Difabel series offered a warm learning experience through a typography and 2026 calendar-making session with Aulia Akbar @spacelessmind , a graphic researcher and graphic designer based in Bandung. Held at Tab Space in collaboration with @pikpotadsjabar POTADS--Parents Association of Children with Down Syndrome, the workshop brought together 18 participants with Down syndrome, whose positive energy and enthusiasm filled the room.
The session started with casual introductions and quickly turned into an interactive brainstorming moment. Participants shared their favorite shapes, colors, numbers, and even their birth month. Using calendar templates prepared by Tab Space, each participant filled in the numbers based on their chosen month.
The workshop continued with a hands-on typography activity using mixed-media collage techniques. Participants combined paper cutouts, air-dry clay, tape, and other simple materials, assisted by Tabâs Art Facilitators.
After the workshop, the participants and our art facilitators enjoyed soft, warm bao buns from our neighbor, @softpao.bdg Just a one-minute walk from Tab Space, we were welcomed by freshly steamed bao buns straight from the steamer. Soft, warm and delicious, everyone loved them!
The artworks were later scanned and compiled into a 2026 calendar set. The final result was not only a designed product, but also a joyful record of a deeply personal creative process. This workshop reminded us that with an inclusive and supportive approach, individuals with Down syndrome can create work that is not only visually engaging, but also honest, expressive, and truly authentic.
Finally finished a long reflection that sat in my drafts for four years about the @pallaka.movement and everything that happened around it in 2020 and 2021 (Makassar, South Sulawesi, Indonesia). Itâs a collaborative movement to democratize design, grounded in the belief that everyone has the right to benefit from design in their own way.
