Meet the artist this weekend! Open 12-4pm Sat & Sun ☀️ . NEAR COLLISIONS – Paintings and Constructions by Annabel Ossel. . The motivating force in these abstract paintings and wooden pieces is the interaction of colour. In the acrylic paintings, colours, in combination with the hard-edged, asymmetric shapes create a dynamic visual conversation. Reaching into 3D space, the painted wooden assemblages seem to be an extension of the paintings. . Beyond the surface, some of the works express the artist’s thoughts or emotions, or act as visual metaphors for myriad issues affecting the outside world. The titles give clues to possible meanings: Your Flag or Mine is political while Losing My Identity suggests the personal. . London born, now Bedfordshire based, Annabel has been painting since 2005, exhibiting in local galleries and venues. Following a career as a picture researcher she has a BA in Art History and an MA in Fine Art from the University of Hertfordshire.
