紐約藝術家 Elijah Anderson 的亞洲首次個展《Passing Notes》已於台北 @whimsyworks_ 正式展開。
本次展覽，匯集 Elijah Anderson 近幾年的全新創作，橫跨粉彩、藍曬、手繪與現成物組合等形式，並透過具音樂性結構的視覺語言，帶領觀者感受一場關於即興、節奏、重複及留白的流動經驗。
💡：他的創作靈感源自滑板、衝浪、塗鴉與音樂文化。
為了慶祝展覽啟動，Whimsy Works 也特別邀請到創意組織 @melting.part 擔任音樂策劃，除了由 Kerena、BUYTHAT5、HUGO & WADE DAO 等音樂人以節奏回應畫面外，創作人 WADE DAO 也與 Elijah Anderson 展開深度對話，將在不久後於 Melting Part 頻道播出。

Elijah Anderson in conversation with host WADE DAO, on his first Asia Exhibition “Passing Notes” with music curation by Melting Part.
We kicked off the year with a deep-dive into the flowing creative world of Elijah Anderson. In his most recent exhibition “Passing Notes” (Whimsy Works Gallery), he skillfully blends inspirations from jazz, graffiti, and surfing to create a space between visual language and musical structure—pieces that you can hear as deeply as you can see.
Melting Part was thrilled when invited by Whimsy to curate music for the occasion. So in addition to DJ's HUGO, and WHILES, we also invited WADE DAO to conduct an exclusive interview with Elijah, the night before the gallery opening.

A few months ago I had the pleasure of creating a tennis mascot for @jonnyrowan out in Melbourne. The idea was to represent the Australian youth tennis culture while captivating the energy and attitude of his lessons and camps 🎾
Such a fun one for me and we are hyped with the results!

Kompakt Record Bar는 뉴욕 아티스트 Elijah Anderson와 협업한 리미티드 제품을 서울에서 발매하며, 이를 기념한 Showcase & Live Painting 이벤트를 개최합니다.
이번 협업은 음악과 회화의 리듬을 하나의 오브젝트로 확장한 프로젝트로, KRB의 큐레이션 감각과 Elijah Anderson의 회화적 언어가 결합된 결과물입니다.
제품은 행사 현장에서 최초 공개 및 발매되며, 협업의 맥락을 직접 경험할 수 있는 쇼케이스 형식으로 진행됩니다.

행사 당일에는 아티스트가 직접 참여하는 라이브 페인팅이 함께 이루어져, 완성된 작품뿐 아니라 작업의 과정과 에너지를 현장에서 공유할 예정입니다. @spacehose 은 다양한 브랜드 및 문화 프로젝트와의 협업을 통해 회화 작업을 패션과 오브젝트 영역으로 확장해온 아티스트입니다.

KRB는 이번 프로젝트를 통해 ‘Music first’라는 태도를 시각 예술 영역으로 확장하며, 음악과 미술이 교차하는 즐거운 경험을 제안합니다.

These were quite the process, including large spray painted plastic negatives, various drumstick and drum brush exposures with powdered charcoal, and some patchwork help from a friend. These pieces explore various elements of music in a new visual language- phrasing, call and response, improvisation, and timing all came into play.
These are the final works I’ll be sharing from my show “Passing Notes”, closing tomorrow, 2/12 at Whimsy Works. I appreciate everyone who came to the opening, and all the kind words and feedback from the show!
