“Brutalist Modularity”
(School project)
-
Engaging with themes of perception and architectural modularity. This concept of modularity bridges architecture and graphic design, leading to the creation of an uppercase display typeface. This typeface, inspired by architectural blueprints, serves as a modular toolkit for users, allowing for customization and adaptation, reflecting the foundational role of blueprints in architectural design. This approach not only questions the sustainability and practicality of demolishing buildings versus adaptive reuse but also envisions a future of sustainable construction practices.

I’ve recently developed an experimental typeface for a module, drawing inspiration from a variety of fields including graphic design, theology, and philosophy.
___
Allow me to introduce UNITY OF BEING (Wahdat al-wujud), a typeface that draws heavily from the philosophy and theology of Ibn Arabi. The goal is to synthesize his non-dualistic philosophy, often reflected in the grid systems used in mosques to create intricate mosaics that symbolize the concept of one eternal being. To capture this essence, the typeface starts off simple and gradually increases in complexity.
This leads us to the creation of a smaller typeface. When contemplating the truth of an eternal being, the notion of perfection and idealism is often invoked. Critics, however, argue that the immanent world is inherently imperfect. This dilemma is akin to holding a mirror to an eternal being (GOD), wherein the reflection would naturally reveal an imperfect reality. Such reflections find parallels in Lacanian and Hegelian ontology, albeit without the theological dimension.
___
The question arises: “IF GOD IS ONENESS, CAN GOD BE FOUND WITHIN LANGUAGE?”

The internet once thrived as a space for free expression and idea-sharing, but algorithmic censorship by tech giants and governments has created a “digital prison.”

Enter C͓̽R͓̽T͓̽L͓̽+͓̽A͓̽L͓̽T͓̽+͓̽F͓̽R͓̽3͓̽3͓̽D͓̽O͓̽M͓̽, a customizable font that bypasses these filters, built on Futura’s progressive design, used in political campaigns and manifestos. This open-source tool lets users create their own expression with the typeface, then download and share their messages, reclaiming the freedom of open discourse.
More than just a font, C͓̽R͓̽T͓̽L͓̽+͓̽A͓̽L͓̽T͓̽+͓̽F͓̽R͓̽3͓̽3͓̽D͓̽O͓̽M͓̽
is a bold statement against digital oppression.

The internet was once hailed as a new frontier, capable of connecting people worldwide. Yet, over recent years, we’ve witnessed a troubling erosion of basic rights, including the right to speak freely on issues that don’t align with the profit-driven motives of these corporations. This has led to widespread censorship and shadow banning of voices that challenge the status quo.
In this context, we saw a unique intersection between typography, technology, and politics. The typeface itself functions as both a symbolic and practical response to these issues:
1.The bars symbolize the oppression of words, literally obscuring them.
2.The bars can be modified to represent algorithms, such as Optical Character Recognition (OCR) and serves as a practical way to bypass these censors when being scanned.
3.Futura, with its strong historical ties to resistance movements, serves as a reminder of the power of design in opposing authoritarian rule.
Through this work, we hope to encourage citizens to critically examine the role of the internet—not just as a tool for empowerment, but also as a means of silencing inconvenient voices.

Holland Optical — A Type Specimen in Print
I’ve been itching to dive into a personal project ever since graduation, and recently found the perfect excuse. While window shopping around Holland Village, a typeface on display caught my eye—it had this unique Funky and whimsical ah vibe that stuck with me.
I figured, why not try recreating and reinterpreting it in my own way? Honestly, I just needed a reason to design something lol.
So... here we are.
𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝙊𝙧𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙎𝙥𝙖𝙘𝙚 𝘾𝙤𝙣𝙛𝙚𝙧𝙚𝙣𝙘𝙚 is a speculative design project imagining a future where innovation, exploration, and corporate governance extend across the universe. Founded in response to rapid transformation beyond Earth, the conference acts as a platform to preserve and promote core human values through universal dialogue. With a focus on experimentation and forward-thinking collaboration, the project envisions a future where design facilitates progress across space uniting corporations, creatives, and thinkers to shape the next era of civilisation. Bold, immersive, and deeply future-facing.

“根を辿る (Ne o Tadoru): Tracing Roots” @tracing.roots explores the nuanced intersections of identity and cultural disconnection through symbolic imagery and expressive movement. Thoughtfully navigating the path toward self-discovery and reconciliation with heritage, the film invites introspection and personal reflection.

C̷o̷r̷r̷u̷p̷t̷i̷o̷n̷ is an experimental photography project that explores and deconstructs the concept of “corruption” in its many forms. Often viewed as a misuse of power for personal gain, corruption extends far beyond politics or institutions—it’s woven into the fabric of our daily lives, from societal systems to personal morals.
This project delves into corruption not only as a subject but as a process—manifesting in the hardware of the camera, in the digital degradation of files, in the distortion of the subject matter, and even in the very form of the book that binds it all together. Here, corruption becomes both theme and method, challenging our perception of integrity, truth, and control.

“Death Comes” is a photobook by @supastinga . A book that seeks to capture the mundane and the nuance of the world around him.
Throwing in the harsh and soul-crushing blacks and deafening whites of his black and white images. Russell seeks to dive deep into
the atmosphere of his surroundings, from finding holes and cracks in the walls to his trip to Thailand with his buddies.
“Let your soul be illuminated with the passion of a thousand suns.”
It was fun working closely with Russell on this work and helping with the layout, not to mention his amazing pictures.
