🇵🇸 I pondered over the significance of creating these 🍉images. A strong urge came this morning, without knowing then, that 15 Nov is the Independence Day of the state of Palestine. All I know is that people are dying and that we are witnessing a genocide and the violence is still on-going.
Perhaps out of necessity, we withdraw and grow desensitized to the images of the destruction, death after death. Waves of helplessness hit as the controlled state we live in even threatens 6 months jail time for any public display of symbols, apparels related to the war, less say a peaceful demonstration. Isn’t that fucking wild that we cannot stand with humanity? Our fabric of harmony so weak that a watermelon shirt could tear it apart.
A friend reminds that any acts of protest allow oneself to feel less lonely, to have a semblance of sanity, a form of faith in humanity, a sense of power, and to remind ourselves that we are humans.
So here’s a prayer to Palestine, I am sorry that the world has failed you, that powerful people can be bystanders to this violence because of politics, alliances, and greed. May you be free. STOP THIS MADNESS, CEASE FIRE NOW.

UltraSuperNew Gallery Singapore is pleased to present a performance showcase by experimental community, School of Altruism.
In this showcase, multi-hyphenate artist-musicians Fauxe, Sp8cefish, gebbo and failtrylagi bring their kaleidoscopic, genre-bending sounds and inimitable energy to a gallery context for the first time. Audiences can not only expect a lush, eclectic blend of live and electronic sounds and experimental rap, but a performance that playfully de- and re-constructs our preconceived ideas about what a gig or concert is.

I kept wondering why the form felt familiar, instinctive and yet I was missing a piece to the puzzle. My mind fixated on the deviant, unable to continue working on the collection without understating the whys / intention. And yes, not everything requires a meaning attached to it but this process has been sacred in many ways, of me processing life.
Last night, I stumbled upon gorgonocephalus, a genus of marine basket stars and realised that I have marked out Ernst Haeckel’s illustration of one, years ago — without knowing what it was.
Gorgonocephalus translates to Gorgon’s head or known as Medusahode(head), and if you know the symbolism of Medusa, you know. That struck deep within my gut and I am not sure where I am headed but to find meaning in the perhaps meaningless is hope.
