Merrimans tarpon toad is one of the most iconic tarpon flies, arguably producing more tarpon than any other. Originally tied with a rabbit strip, it has been modified with a marabou tail. Regardless of the tail, it’s still the Toad, and always tied with chartreuse thread just the way Gary did it.
