Yesterday I was loading crock pots into my car in the snow, freezing cold and preparing for what turned out to be a 2-hour drive into the city, and once again questioning my life choices. And then @soupbreadchi happened and all was well again. What a beautiful evening! Thanks to all who came out and thanks especially to our soup cooks, to dj John Soss, and to Liz McCarthy and @gnarwareworkshop for all the gorgeous bowls! Still doing the math but we raised well over $1000 for @pilsen_food_pantry —all on what the radio said was the darkest night of the year. See you next time!

Thanks to everyone who came out for our final Soup & Bread of the season! We raised $600 for the Marjorie Kovler Center, whose cooking and nutrition programs provide critical services to clients recovering from torture and their families. We showed off our work-in-progress soup quilt, and some A+ protest signs were made as well! Now it’s time for more summery pursuits, but we’ll be back with more soup next winter —our 18th YEAR. When we invited you to come eat with us in 2009, we never imagined we’d still be here in 2025. Thank you!
