You’re in the Band is a theatrical licensing competition that will award a free, three-performance license and all rental materials of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s School of Rock – The Musical to ten schools and/or youth groups.
The contest is open to all schools and youth groups in the United States and Canada excluding Quebec – especially Title I and other institutions in under-resourced communities. Winning programs must perform their production (either the full version or Young Actors Edition of the musical) between August 2026 and December 2027.

This edition is a one-hour version of @andrewlloydwebber , Julian Fellowes and @glennslaterlyrics ’ School of Rock – The Musical. Fit for youth performers, the Young Actors Edition allows all students to be members of the band – no live instrument-playing required.
Based on Mike White’s 2003 film of the same name, the story follows Dewey Finn, a failed, wannabe rock star who decides to earn an extra bit of cash by posing as a substitute teacher at a prestigious prep school. There he turns a class of straight-A pupils into a guitar-shredding, bass-slapping, mind-blowing rock band.
