A few weeks ago I had the pleasure of speaking to @laurenduffus ahead of her EP Can’s Gone Warm. Speaking about things like lewisham, never remembering the lyrics to our favourite songs (honestly I have no idea how people do that), mumbles and ad-libs, and tactfully embracing it in a sound that feels a bit like a lucid dream.
Also fortunate to catch her live at ormside a few days later. Rumours flew round the room of tickets going for 400 quid. DJ Spanish Fly was playing uno in the smoking area. Tommy Wright III tore through some Memphis classics to close out the night. It all made sense. The hubbub around this moment. Grateful to have caught a little joyride as it all unfolded.
