Montreal trio SUUNS join forces with Dominican producer Kelman Duran for a self-titled collaborative LP, documenting an intensive, largely improvised session in late 2025. Recorded over six days, Duran’s remote interventions—digitally transmitted and recontextualized—intersect with SUUNS’ hardware-driven setup, where MPC sequencing, guitar synth, and vocoder treatments generate a fragmented but cohesive sonic field. Jazz Is Dead! Festival returns to Turin with a three-day sonic trip across genres Turin has always been a city of layered identities—industrial memory, cinematic melancholy, experimental undercurrents and it is the perfect places for events like Jazz Is Dead! Festival. For its ninth edition, running 29–31 May 2026, the festival reshapes itself as a full-scale sensory environment. Spread across Cascina Falchera and El Barrio, this year’s edition expands its physical and conceptual geography. The shift in locations is not just logistical but experiential: from open-air rural edges to more enclosed urban intensity, the festival positions Turin itself as an active medium—echoing, absorbing, and refracting the music that passes through it. The artists involeved are A Guy Called Gerald, Alessandro Cortini, Aya, @big_brave_ , @lucreciadalt , Moor Mother, Matmos, Horse Lords, The Heliocentrics, and The Kilimanjaro Darkjazz Ensemble sit alongside collaborations and hybrid formations such as @martasalogni & Stefano Pilia, Glacial (Lee Ranaldo, Toby Buck, David Watson), and Dwarf of East Agouza (Maurice Louca, Sam Shalabi, Alan Bishop). Helen Svoboda announces Headwater, out June 26 on Room40, built from sixteen interconnected pieces. The Finnish-Australian composer works with double bass, voice, and electronics, arranging them as shifting layers rather than fixed roles. Across the album, low-frequency resonance and vocal lines fold into each other, with loops and processing shaping a continuous flow. “Void of Space” is the new excerpt. She explains: ” ‘Void of Space’ exists in the in-between, in a daydream, where thoughts evaporate into one another. The lyrics paint this picture, where a stream of thought “climbs up a cloud, but falls through”, in a never-ending abstract void of space.“ Filmmaker Angus Kirby adds, “This video is a trip from the vaguely familiar to the unknown. Besides a literal interpretation of the title, ‘Void of Space’ has a celestial quality in its silences and sense of scale. To listen to it is it float through an eerie vacuum. I figured the video should reflect that with experiments with light and empty locations we’re used to seeing populated. Gradually we become untethered until we find ourselves in the titular void.” Watch the video on #sonofmarketing

Anna Ferrer releases PA, her fourth album, out now via La Castanya. Based in Menorca, has collaborated with Sílvia Pérez Cruz and Marco Mezquida, developing a practice rooted in reinterpretation of folk material. Following Parenòstic, the new album continues her focus on voice, archival forms, and hybrid acoustic-electronic production. According to the press release, "The project is inseparable from its performative dimension. In the live show, premiered at Fira Mediterrània de Manresa, Auditori de Barcelona and Auditori de Girona, Ferrer ritualizes the transmission of her paternal lineage’s craft, accompanied onstage by her baker father, who shares a worktable with two musicians—Toni Llull (Marina Herlop) on percussion and Pol Batlle (Rita Payés) on guitar." Delights Of My Life (2024) sees Eric Chenaux refine his singular language of warped jazz balladry into a trio setting, where familiarity and abstraction coexist. With Ryan Driver on Wurlitzer and Philippe Melanson on electroacoustic drums, the music loosens time, letting groove emerge as something fluid and unstable. In support of Delights Of My Life, Eric Chenaux brings his time-bending sound to a run of live dates across the UK and Canada this spring. Tour dates: 30 Apr 2026 (Coventry), 01 May 2026 (Manchester), 02 May 2026 (Newcastle), 03 May 2026 (London), 14 May 2026 (Toronto), 15 May 2026 (Peterborough), 17 May 2026 (Victoriaville).
