A year of a crazy amount of work, directed 2 shorts, wrote 3 shorts and 3 features, and put my AFI thesis into action. From Panahi to Kristen Stewart to Lanthimos, I could glimpse into the shared curiosity and persistence behind the masterful minds. Thank you my family and friends for your support, without you I would have died - I wished we had called more, and instead of calling, we hugged. Thank you my AFI peers, collaborators, and mentors - you make an incredibly difficult year truly worthwhile. I never got to spend my 30th in Brazil, but instead I feel like I’m on the ground building towards something new and truly exciting.

Hi friends, I would like to share something that is very close to my heart with you - my AFI thesis film THE HOLE, a folklore fantasy about the urgent truth immigrants face today.
Our story follows taxi driver MERDAN, who picks up passenger LEILA, a woman whose son was shot at the border after being mistaken for a BEAR. She asks him to take her to the forest, to dig a hole and bury her — a request that stirs Merdan’s suppressed grief for his own late mother.
I’m working with a wonderful team from AFI and many more Hollywood industry professionals and beyond, who are so passionate about the story and lending us their experience.
