@tonijtoasty and I had a little event yesterday which officially minted me as the luckiest dude alive. Big thanks to all the family and friends who came from near and far, big love to everyone who couldn’t make it. We love you all. Holler if you want the registry link. We’ll share more photos and some stories and detailed thank yous later. Today we’ll hang with the kids and get back to Portland.
Today I completed my 5000th trip driving Uber over the last 1.75 years. Seems like a crazy clip to me. Math still hold that only about 3 out of 25 passengers tip. I haven’t had any terrible experiences or incidents to note tho. I generally drive about 50 hours a week. Add in 30+ hours working baseball (every other week) and DJ gigs… I’m barely scratching by. Before gas went up 70% it was a bit better financially but whatever hope of ever getting ahead is being erased as costs continue to increase.
I don’t love it. I don’t hate it either and it’s a total necessity so I just keep on keeping on while the hole I’m digging myself out of keeps getting deeper. I know I’m not alone in the new struggle to survive. I’m grateful to have a license and the physical ability to work so much. If I come off dazed or exhausted, if I’m short or grouchy it’s cause I’m…..exhausted.

Major thanks to @izm1 for having me come play @whiteowlsocialclub last night. It’s a cool venue with a great sound system. We only met maybe a year ago but it was clear in our first quick chat that we were like minded and we’ve easily become friends. One of the challenges of relocating is finding your people and making connections but luckily I’ve met some very talented DJs here that are also just really great people.

Making a trip back to Frisco end of the month and am hype to be back inside @legacynorthbeach on Friday 5/29. Since I been playing so much hip hop lately here in Portland I thought I’d share my favorite joints with North Beach.
I tried to get us to SF for the Padres V Giants game tonight but couldn’t pull it off so we busted a costume change before going for snacks to represent our respective teams.

A year ago today @tonijtoasty and I eloped here in Portland. Being that we are both Star Wars nerds and it’s something we connected over we thought it would be a sweet day to celebrate before we had our wedding in San Diego in July.
We were blessed to have the same officiant @r_ladale_g honor us with a lovely ceremony and a major assist from Oregon’s 501st who sent some imperial pilots to be our witnesses.
Big gratitude to @urportland for being a very special venue on a lovely sunny Sunday.
