I was struck by two big aspects of #YouMeAndTuscany. How often actor Regé-Jean Page carries around wooden crates (it's a lot). And something about this #romcom is so very familiar...like, it's a movie I've seen before...but which one? (Holy Sandra Bullock!)

While it could be argued that few romcoms are truly original (and this one is hyped as the product of an original idea), "You, Me & Tuscany" is a pretty strong copy of a 1995 romcom. Still, there are some laughs for fans of the genre. Plus, Regé-Jean Page takes his shirt off in slow motion, so there's that.
"We got to this moment because of people like Kris Brannon aka Sonics guy, and Lenny Wilkens, and Slick Watts, and so many others that aren't with us anymore that are smiling down on #Seattle today."

Can't say I'm surprised that #StarfleetAcademy won't return after its second and final season. As we discussed on a recent Meet Me Here episode, #StarTrek has to be able to try new things. That doesn't mean they'll succeed every time, but it's worth it in the end. This try didn't work out (for reasons I've already gone into). Hoping Paramount / Star Trek will learn from this experience. Also hoping that we will get more series attempts and Star Trek will live long and prosper.

#KarateKid Legends kicks up to the hype. My #filmreview at KUOW.org, in short, concludes you should go see this #movie in a theater. It's worth it.
This latest installment ties the many corners of the "Karate Kid" universe together, from the 1980s films to the 2010 Jackie Chan movie based in China, as well as the more recent "Cobra Kai" series — minus "The Next Karate Kid" with Hilary Swank. (Yes, that movie did happen, though the modern Karate Kid media has never acknowledged it.) Ralph Macchio returns as Daniel LaRusso and Jackie Chan brings back Mr. Han, uniting the past karate and kung fu storylines. Learning from the success of "Cobra Kai," this new film maintains some of the humor from that series.
#Marvel's #Thunderbolts pulls off a great adventure while also slipping in some deep allegories that are often only found in the best sci-fi. Anybody who has been on an anti-depressant or done talk therapy will likely relate. This latest #MarvelMovie comes after a few lackluster additions to the #marvelcinematicuniverse, but will likely surprise audiences. Full #moviereview at KUOW.org.
