Style Breakdown ➺ Polished & Opulent
This style is where subtlety is pushed aside in favour of concentration, richness and a bit of grandeur. Fancy? Sure! You’ll find it stretching across a few different categories—aged or reserve sparkling, sun-drenched whites with plenty of texture, and deeper reds that lean generous rather than restrained.

Guest Chef ➺ Marco & Luca, Super Norma
The recipe card may have stopped landing in orders, but its shelf life is eternal.
Last month, we teamed up with Melbourne pasta favourite @super.norma —Marco and Luca’s Italo-disco-fuelled neighbourhood hotspot in Carlton and a very worthy destination for anyone partial to exceptional pasta.
Their Mafaldine with Cime di Rapa Pesto is now live online for you to make at home, alongside a few bottles we highly recommend pouring with it. Make it for yourself, or anyone you’re trying to impress.

Jared's Knock Off ➺ Scarpa Verduno Pelaverga 2023
“Only 12 producers in the world grow Pelaverga. To call it rare is almost an understatement! It's a variety native to Piedmont that's been described as vaguely Nebb-adjacent. So yeah, it caught my attention. Peppery, bright, lightly spiced, floral. Do I have a type? Yep. Was it delicious? Very.”
La Colombière - Les Frontons Flingueurs Négrette 2021 ➺ Shop via Link In Bio.
Négrette is a stealthy variety popular on the cool, wet west. From Fronton in south-west France, we love a biodynamic drop sporting a sensational nose. Earthy red and black berries, dry herb, warmth. And on the palate, plenty of spicy bite, with a velvety, savoury finish. Hand-harvesting and sorting the berries ensures this variety, prone to damage of its delicate skins, shines. Partially destemmed, vinified naturally in concrete tanks. No fining, just a little filtration. The ultimate blind tasting red herring.
Bodie's Knock Off ➺ Domaine Bertrand Bourgogne Rouge Pinot Noir 2022
“I looked forward to opening this one all week. Pinot, Gamay and lighter reds are always on my radar, but this is the kind of bottle I’d buy when I want to treat myself a little. It’s more serious and concentrated than what I’d usually go for midweek. Enjoyed this with my partner, some music on, unwound for a bit before cooking something nice together… and somehow still ended up opening a second bottle too.”
Masterglass ➺ Patrick Sullivan
Not all Chardys are created equal, and Patrick Sullivan's have well and truly flown off the radar. If you're looking for intensity and concentration, fix your focus on Pat's single vineyard lineup. Freshness dolled up with an electric energy to match—this is a call to get your disco boots on.
Pat’s rise has been quick. In less than a decade, his Chardonnays have become some of the country’s most sought-after. These days, he’s all in on Chardonnay, sourcing from Gippsland, the Upper Yarra, Henty and the Limestone Coast—each site shaped by cool climates and serious minerality. The man doesn’t miss.

Kirby's Knock Off ➺ La Petite Mort Chardonnay 2023
“I know, I know—another Chardonnay. I make no apologies. We got home from a camping trip through Tassie absolutely wrecked but so happy. After a few days hiking through mountains, this was exactly what we needed. Nothing like a good glass to ease the pain of unpacking the car. Creamy, lemony perfection. Chardy for the Chardy-lovers.”
Brash Higgins - CINS Cinsault 2024 ➺ Shop via Link In Bio.
A medium-bodied emerging variety for McLaren Vale that packs a punch – a warmer year with lower yields, resulting in concentrated flavours and balanced wines. Even lower, considering this was hand-selected fruit, vinified in a 2-tonne fermenter for two weeks. Expect blood orange, ginger, nutmeg, and white pepper in a bath of ripe red plum and pomegranate. Perhaps a future addition to the seven deadly 'CINS'.
We thought you should know—Acmé Pinot Noir is back in our Pick ’n’ Mix lineup. For now, anyway.
A crowd favourite for its summer berries, peppery spice and crushed herbs.
We wouldn’t dawdle.
