For anyone feeling a bit creatively burnt out, overwhelmed, over-screened or quietly convinced they’re “not artistic anymore”, gelli printing is one of the easiest, most playful ways back into making things with your hands. No drawing skills, big ideas or experience required. Just a desire to play with layers, textures, colour and experimentation. Over 2.5 hours you’ll make a huge stack of monoprints that can become mini zines, cards, collage papers, sketchbook material or even the starting point for future artworks. It’s messy, satisfying, surprisingly meditative and full of unexpected compositions you could never consciously plan. T’was a friendly, hands-on session inspired by folk and folklore, but everyone was free to follow their own ideas and culture’s folklore too. We now have 3 ways to try screenprinting this summer We’ve got three different sessions to help you dip your toes into screenprinting, whether you want something quick and playful or a full day deep dive. – Paper cut screenprinting with Ben Allen (a low-tech, hands-on way to make bold prints) – Experimental monoprinting with Adam Bridgland (paint directly onto screens and create one-off pieces) – A full-day beginners workshop at Sonsoles Print Studio in Peckham, where you’ll learn the full process and expose your own screen Emily’s been a member at Sonsoles for the past two years, so we’re really excited to be collaborating on this one. It’s a proper studio day where you’ll create your own A4 screenprints from start to finish. All the seasons have materials included, no experience needed and are small groups (max 12).
