Year 6 is calling. 🌲✨ Introducing our 2026 theme: ROOTED.
This year, we’re returning to the earth to find our strength. "Rooted" is about the invisible networks that hold us up—the queer ancestors who paved the way and the chosen family that sustains us today.
Like a forest, we stand tall alone but grow stronger together. It’s time to get back to the soil, find your magic, and get rooted in community. 🌿💜

Kaleidoscope: Metamorphosis at @something_queer
Glass butterflies line a blooming garden archway. By day they caught the rays of sun that broke through the oak canopy. By night they glowed from within. Together they formed a portal that transported participants to another world.
A collaborative sculpture, this piece relied on our friends and family to hand cut and decorate each butterfly. Thank you to everyone who contributed.
This is just the beginning of the journey for this swarm. They'll be joined by 400 other butterflies as we get ready for the larger installation @burningman
If you're interested in contributing, check out the link in our bio for ways to get involved and stay in touch.
If you missed this… you missed queer magic in the forest. 🌲✨
@something_queer returned to Delero Valley this weekend for their 6th annual gathering, and somehow it felt even bigger than a party. It felt like community in its purest form.
Queer DJs spinning until sunrise. Poolside connections turning into real friendships. Workshops built by the community, for the community. Chosen family everywhere you looked.
This wasn’t about escaping reality. It was about building a better one together — rooted in joy, radical consent, self-expression, and the kind of belonging that stays with you long after the weekend ends.
Our community from NY to CA and all in-between attended. The queer community keeps proving that we don’t just show up, we create spaces where people can fully exist. And Something Queer is one of those spaces. 🌈
Already counting down until next year. Did you go? Tell us your favorite moment below. ⬇️

Our favorite plastic icons are back in the branches and they’ve never looked better. @philliphua is hanging these dolls high to remind us that even when things fall apart, the look remains legendary.
Look Around: Find them swaying in the trees all over the campground.
Stay Present: Stop your sashay for a second to really see the magic.
She’s weathered, she’s worn, and she’s absolutely iconic. Don’t just walk past the art. Give these undead divas a moment of silence and a whole lot of love.
Sashay over to the trees and tag us in your favorite Zombie Barbie find!
