For our second popup, we came back with more- more brands, more range. From streetwear to considered fashion, lighting, and design objects. And a bigger space to hold it all. We gave you more space. You filled it anyway. Three hour waits. A full two days. Thank you Sydney, especially everyone who stayed in line and moved through it all with us. Seeing that kind of commitment around Vietnamese design stays with us. Sóm Space was created to celebrate the new wave of creativity coming out of Vietnam, fashion, accessories, and objects that deserve to be seen outside of Vietnam. As Viet Kiều (Vietnamese living overseas), we’re always building from that in-between perspective- bringing something deeply Vietnamese, but shaped by the way we’ve grown up here. For this chapter, we went home. Through the kitchen, the living room, the bedroom- the small details that make a Việt Kiều space what it is. A wall of Hennessy. The TV running Paris by Night. In the popup, we held that world inside chiếu mats and concrete cinderblocks- a Vietnamese home seen through a Western lens. From photographers and florists to graphic designers, DJs, and the team behind the scenes, many of whom are Viet Kiều themselves. It’s important to us to build with our own community. Thank you to everyone who came through, supported, and stepped into this world with us. If you missed out- you weren’t the only one. KIMTR (@kimtr.clothes ), now at Sớm Space. Based in Saigon, Vietnam, KIMTR draws inspiration from Vietnamese tradition to create modern garments that balance contemporary design with cultural heritage. The brand embraces the beauty of imperfection, combining natural elegance and a quiet sensibility rooted in slow living. KIMTR designs timeless pieces intended to evolve within a wardrobe over time. Rather than creating garments tied to a single season, the brand develops pieces that can return across collections through new materials or subtle variations. Working primarily with natural fabrics such as silk, lyocell, linen, cotton blends, and raw denim, KIMTR’s garments often feature fluid draping and intentional construction that prioritizes longevity over seasonal trends. The brand’s aesthetic leans toward a dark, romantic sensibility expressed through layered silhouettes and quiet textures. KIMTR’s production philosophy centers on conscious creation. Many pieces are produced through a pre-order model to reduce overproduction, while careful pattern making helps minimize fabric waste. Through this approach, KIMTR seeks to create clothing that lives with the wearer and grows more meaningful over time. From Vietnam to Sydney. Available at Sớm Space Popup 02- 11th -12th April. Demen (@demen_vn ), now at Sớm Space. Founded in Hanoi in May 2024 by Jang and Kei Vu, who met while working together at Subtle Le Nguyen, Demen explores an elevated approach to everyday dressing. Through soft draping and considered construction, each piece is shaped to move naturally- carrying a quiet, effortless sensuality. At the heart of Demen is a study of the relationship between clothing and the body. Described by the founders as “nature-breathed,” the garments echo organic movement and the subtle irregularities found in the natural world. This sensibility runs through the collection: billowing, gauzy shirts tucked into roomy trousers, cowl-back camisoles, and delicate jewelry designed to be worn multiple ways. Rendered entirely in black and white, Demen’s palette sharpens the focus, allowing fluid form to take precedence over colour. The brand works primarily with breathable materials and a natural drape, grounding its designs in the realities of Vietnam’s heat and humidity while maintaining a sense of refinement. At its core, DEMEN is less about statement and more about presence. Clothing that accompanies the body with ease, offering a sense of stillness and lived-in elegance. From Vietnam to Sydney. Available at Sớm Space Popup 02, April 10-12. Poster design: @vina.star_
