📢 We've been busy asking London political parties to sign up to our #StreetsForKids manifesto to make our children's journeys to and from school safe, pleasant and healthy.
🤝 We recently met Southwark Labour cllrs @cllrrichardleeming (pictured) and cabinet member for Climate Emergency, Jobs & Transport and @johnbatteson and discussed our Streets for Kids manifesto.
We are excited to see our asks align with the ambition in their #StreetsforPeople strategy and we hope to see them included in their manifesto.

Wow - look at the difference traffic restrictions can make to the school run 🚲✨
With the timed closure of Townley Rd, plus nearby school streets at @jagsjunior and @alleyns_junior , and the traffic-free @dulwichsquare , more families are choosing to cycle to school - and loving it.

Could the car park in the middle of West Dulwich be converted into a community space for people? Currently it holds ten car parking spaces without restriction, so most are occupied all day. This prevents customer parking - even Google maps shows a car parked illegally on the pavement! 🚸
Perhaps this space should be re-thought? A place to sit and enjoy the variety of nearby shops. Somewhere which could be planted with flowers and trees, providing shade and improving drainage? ,🌷🌻🌳
Local, independent shops face many challenges - competing with the surge in online deliveries being primary. Making the shopping experience as attractive as possible has been shown to improve footfall - and may provide a welcome restbite for parents travelling actively on the school run. 🚲🚶

Enforcement is challenging given the speed of drop offs and the danger persists. 😔
