SOLO Dripper

Brewing for clarity, sweetness and body. This is my personal guide to using @solodripper the way i like to do it every day.

SOLO was designed for single brewing but I like to explore its limits. In Shanghai we were brewing with just 8g during the festival. It is a small dose but perfect for expensive coffees like Geisha. If you have a 20g tube, you can brew with 8g and use the rest for cupping. The method stays the same. Ratio of 1:15, 3 or 4 pours. Same approach but just smaller dose.

It’s amazing how deep and fun this journey has been since I started designing a dripper. Before coffee, I worked as a visual designer, creating iPhone apps and traveling as a photographer, capturing nature through my lens. I never imagined I’d one day bring something physical to life, but the fundamentals of design, balance, and flow shaped the way I think about coffee tools. Designing SOLO made me appreciate how we should think about every tiny detail, how elements interact, and how small changes can shape the final experience. Here are some of my thoughts and tips from that process.

We just had the very first Solo Battle in the Czech Republic and honestly, it was amazing! We had 36 players join and even more wanted to be part of it before registration closed. We came up with a completely new format, something fast, fun and a little different. I really hope you all enjoyed it as much as we did. It was the first edition, so of course there are still small things to improve and fix, but more than anything, it felt like we all had a really good time together. A new lineup of cups, all made from the same ceramic, finished with a soft brushed matte exterior. SIP returns in beige and pink. A cup and server in one, made for both brewing and sharing.
